I'll continue my crusade against those schools up in the Lorain County League.
Firelands averaged a hair under 2 wins per season from 1999-2010.
Something changed in the past decade, as they averaged over 5 wins per season from 2011-2019. This stretch includes two playoff appearances, a 66-14 loss to 13-1 Chagrin Falls in 2011, and a 42-7 loss to Woodridge in 2015. They also snuck a win over Edison in 2017, who wound up going 8-3, so I am aware that Firelands has beaten a playoff team at least once this century.
As far as Pandemic Brand Football goes, they have beaten two teams who are over .500, a 9-0 win over 5-3, D6 Columbia (eliminated in the playoffs), and Napoleon last week. Napoleon lost a senior RB with over 2,000 career yards in Week 5 of this season due to an injury, so Firelands was not getting the Napoleon as advertised during seeding.
Firelands also lost to Keystone 40-14 this year. Keystone is tussling with Van Wert this weekend.
Shelby had to fight for a W last week, for better or for worse. I was expecting them to roll over Rossford with ease. I'll still allocate such faith towards this week's contest.

Napoleon has a history crapping in the Playoffs. I don't think that had much a bearing.

Looks like Clear Fork wants another bite of the apple by playing Ontario a second time OR no one wanted to play either team.

For a moment I thought Harding was playing a playoff rematch but I see they're trying the other Worthington school this time.

Does Harding want to play Ontario to complete both teams MOAC schedule? Does Lex want to play Ontario to fulfill their annual backyard rivalary game?

I was expecting them to roll over Rossford with ease. I'll still allocate such faith towards this week's contest. Shelby had to knock the rust off. The week off was mostly negative. Some bumps and bruises healed, but they were foggy. That’s reflected in turnovers and penalties. They pulled away in the second half. They also seemed to only go for the long ball when passing. Fisher had been slowed a little the previous two weeks and Shelby had relied on the short passing game. Fisher was moving the ball well last week and it seemed they abandoned the short passing game and went for home runs. Also the Rossford QB was one of the best I’ve seen in some time. He went through progressions often throwing to the number two or three option. He didn’t panic and run at the slightest pressure. He also had a strong, accurate arm. I overheard he is only a sophomore. He was impressive. They won’t likely see another like him.

Arbiter live shows Ontario hosting Lexington on October 30. Lexington and Ontario have had week 10 on the schedule since early Sept. We'll all have to wait and see if it gets played.

Ontario-24 ClearFork-14 Final Close game except for 2 long TD runs by the "water bug" on Jet Sweeps. A historic season for Ontario. First win ever over Galion. First win over CF in 30 years. How often does a team get to beat a rival twice in one regular season, even though a little irregular? Harding chose to play Thomas Worthington instead of a make up league game against Ontario to get a win.
