In the Richland Source news I saw two pictures of SHS's new football complex. As I do not live in the area, I have some questions about the stadium/field. Will the Milliron donation of the bleachers from the raceway be used on the home side or visitor side? It looks as if the playing field will be artificial turf and the track will be moved to around the playing field. The press box appears to be one level in contrast to the present bi-level one. Will there also be a smaller press box for the visitor's side as there is now at the present Skiles/Wilkins? Will the old high school/middle school be torn down to accommodate the new facility of K-8? I like how they're paying for it using mostly pipeline money and state funds.

I think the donated seating will be home. Yes to turf. The field will fit inside the track. The field events will be moved. I don’t know anything about the press box. Eventually the middle school comes down. The K-8 is going in the open area where the varsity practices now (between the middle school and the baseball field). I think they are going to leave the gym. That’s all true the last I heard unless plans have changed.

To piggyback off what fan said, the gym, commons and office areas currently in the existing MS will stay. I believe the intentions are for the Board of Ed offices, Supt. offices to move into those spaces. Once this building is finished all three elementary buildings in town will come down (Auburn, Dowds and the old Central building).
I also believe the plan is to relocate the baseball field to the west of the Vo Ag barn which sits near the aux gym at the high school. The existing BB field will then become parking for the new FB field.

quiz,i would be leary of the pipeline company because here in erie county nexus pipeline wants to reevaluate the the property tax and wants to lower the taxes that erie county schools would get especially Margaretta.Margaretta wants to build a new school using Nexus pipeline money, but lexus is trying to get the tax money lowered.thats what i last heard.its been a whiles.so dont be surprised if the pipeline tries to lower the tax they have to pay shelby.

When is the new football stadium expected to open? One more season downtown then they should be in their new stadium. That’s the plan at this point in time.
