Ok so I have to wonder about the Willard girls situation that is currently going down. For those that don't know and I assume that's the majority I'll give some background. Willard recently scrimmaged Wynford and the very next day Wynford informed Willard that one of their girls tested for covid day of scrimmage but didn't get the results until the day after the scrimmage and she was positive. Willard panicked and immediately called Huron Co. Health Dept and asked for advice. Advice was given but not mandated by Tim Hollinger head of DOH. Willard chose instead to look at the scrimmage tape and quarantine only the 3 girls who closely guarded the Wynford girl. The other girls played with the same Bball, ran the same court Etc as the Wynford lady but I guess the Willard admin made the assumption that wasn't an issue. I know parents of 2 of the Willard girls well enough to know, while p****d they aren't going to raise a stink but parents of #3 might and I for one hope like heck he raises a fuss. Total BS.

Why would a parent take their kid to be tested and then still let them go to a scrimmage? if you have concerns enough to be tested you should keep them away from contact until you get the results.

You aren't the 1st to ask that question. My observation over the last 6-8 months there are certain people who still think covid is one big joke. There are others that think it's a deadly plague.

I think it is somewhere in between. I'm puzzled at how a parent can be concerned enough to take their kid to be tested but yet be ignorant to the idea of waiting for the results.

I was told that the entire team was quarantined, not just a few players. Not that it matters to me per se, but which is accurate?

Testing should = quarantine every time. If you have enough suspicion to test you have enough suspicion to quarantine.
None of the girls on either team are likely to have any more than a cold. The real risk is the people they contact. Who knows who has a high risk person at home.

I was unaware that the player from Wynford was tested before. Or maybe I just didn’t hear it. That could raise issues w law suits. I’m not one of those peeps. I work for my money. If I’m concerned I’m not going to even let her play until test comes back. It’s a good thing this isn’t the Presidential election. Teams could use it in their advantage. Lol. Sorry. I’ve seen enough corruption to drive a man crazy.
Pretty simple. If your kid has a runny nose keep them home. But that’s how I’ve felt forever. Even as a student I’d get mad seeing students come to school sick and the same today w co workers . 98% chance they will test positive for the life threading COLDVID.
Eat your vitamins. Exercise. You will be fine. 99.69% And yes my daughter is one of the players out. I’m happy only a few penalized. Not completely happy. But I’d rather this than the whole team gets shutdown every time a kid has a runny nose or farts wrong. Good luck to everyone this season. Remember. Vitamins work!!! And local Raw honey. Truth. 😉

As of Fri the 6th it was only 3 girls not the entire team.Willard that is not sure about Wynford. I hadn't heard if that changed. Kokomo, So I have a question for you and I'm not judging just curious...So your daughter is quarantined, does that mean you and everyone else in your household should also be quarantined? I mean in theory if your daughter eventually does become positive and you live with her and you and the rest of the family are out and about does that create an issue?Once again not judging but curious on protocol as protocol seems to be a moving target that the health officials seem to wing on a daily basis.

Friend. I’m really not down w any of this COLDVID. Far as I’m concerned there is no concern for me since this came out. As I’m essential. If been in and out of many homes and some who had kids quarantined. They didn’t care then so why now? It’s proof it’s a flawed system. Like chasing a ghost. And my honest answer to having the whole team quarantine is yes. If it was as deadly as we are told. Clemson QB quarantine can’t play but he’s on the sideline w a mask. Because the masks are the key🤦🏼♂️ Meanwhile our high school kids are told to not leave their home for 2 weeks. So again. Am I ticked? It’s my daughter and basketball. Anyone who knows me. Knows I’m on fire. Lol. True though. I just don’t want to be a reason why the whole team should be punished. I’ve felt that from Go. I want these kids to have a season. Which is going to be tough in heart of flu/cold season(if we still have those anymore) but if I was on the other end. I would also be upset if one or two kids got quarantined and caused everyone to be quarantined. I can definitely understand your argument. My post wasn’t to discredit your thoughts because if it’s that bad then yes I agree.

You read me wrong...I wasn't arguing at all simply asking a honest question. Like I said the protocol seems to change daily. Believe me I've had conversations with one of the other parents whose daughter is waiting with yours. I asked the same question. Not to to argue at all.. just cause I was curious what Tim Hollinger told him. Think about this when Rudy Gobert tested positive back in March or whatever the entire NBA and NHL were cancelled darn near immediately, now Tennessee can play football after what 25-30 positives. The protocol changes with more knowledge on the disease. BTW I do believe it's more than a cold, for my son and DIL who were both positive it was a cold, for an employee who just spent 8 days in ICU(58 years old and very healthy) and a good friends BIL who spent 4 weeks in ICU and died Fri night at 49 yrs old I'd say more than a cold.

Is it true or not....Willard varsity only tonight? JV quarantined, isolated or whatever it is?? Seems odd to quarantine half your squad.Unless things changed from my and even my sons day when you practiced in the same gym and rode the same bus etc. Maybe just a rumor tho.

Lady Flashes D is swarming. Haven’t seen D like this for some time now. I believe Willard is the deepest when it comes to starters and bench play. 8 deep. Not seeing too much of that from other schools in the area. I ❤️ A team w balanced scoring. Any game you can get 5 starters scoring double digits from all 5. We got the best defensive player at the guard position in the area. Season looking good for LFB. Keep rocking ladies.

Huron not much of a fight. This is the year for the girls. They have four real scoring threats and some real good inside outside strength. Would love to see them make another deep run because the well is a little dry after this year, for a few years.

I think you mean the well is dry for 1 year after this one. No, I mean a few years. Really good Talent in jr high and 6th grade. And some height for sure. Weiss and Bedingfield are almost 6’ already. And we all know the mothers. But all around talent for sure coming up.

And I’ll take balanced scoring in double digits over one player w 30-40. You’re right a lot of weapons. Best defensive player in the 419 in Sowers. Ball movement improving. Knock down 3 specialist Grace Hall has been a big addition coming off a whole season missed last year due to injury. High IQ. Napoleon will be a test finally!! I wish we had 8 more games like this.

I think that’s common knowledge. And secondly, your words were “ because the well is a little dry after this year, for a few years.” and that’s very wrong. They will have 1 down year *potentially*. Not 3

Not 3 I guess we can both be correct. I meant two so lets leave it at that. While many people would agree that "a few" means three or more, the actual dictionary definition of "a few" is, "not many but more than one." So, "a few" cannot be one, but it can be as low as two.
