An acquaintence who is a huge squealers fan had this observation on the browns win and the upcoming rematch. He rationalized that the sguealers wanted to keep the game close till the end. He said once the BRowns got 15 points ahead, they had to catch up to ascertain and have control on who they really wanted to play in the first round of the playoffs. That's why, he said, they easily scored the 2 Tds to put the game in jeopardy. Once it was determined that if the Browns won they would have to travel to HEinz for a rematch, Tomlin determined they would much rather play the familiar Browns rather than a team they have not dominated so much. Hence, he rationalized, the terrible pass on the two point conversion attempt. They didnt want to risk going into overtime and somehow winning the game. While I initially passed off his comments as a losers lament, the more I thought about it, the more it made sense, Any thoughts?

If they were trying to lose the game they could of kicked deep. They had all 3 timeouts, so Tomlin could used that as an excuse for kicking deep.

I would say that theory is more then likely fake news he believes in. What will be interesting however is can the Browns pull this one out. Both my gut and heart says yes. Are we getting the stellar browns, dirt browns, or a browns team somewhere in the middle. If Baker and that offense play the way they did when they took on Baltimore the second time, they have a real shot.

I wouldn’t put anything past the Browns, even with their 5th stringers starting.
