If his family is buying a home in Columbian school district then nothing else really matters at this point. Football season hasn’t officially begun and open mats for wrestling is legal. Don’t really see what is so shady about it The OHSAA still has to approve kids playing sports right away even with a move. Parents must give reason for the move to the OHSAA and obviously it must be for a reason other than sports. That’s actually not the case any longer. They removed “athletically motivated” when they went to the bonafide move process.

Step one- Establish residency Step two- Apply for eligibility Step Three- Get denied eligibility Step Four- File suit in local court Step Five- Tell local judge exactly what they want to hear Step Six- Local judge grants eligibility Step Seven- Watch and laugh as the OHSAA shakes it’s fist at you and walks away. Works pretty much every time.

Columbus’s school choice push is going to result in the OHSAA just throwing in the towel on transfer eligibility fight.

On a side note. Looks like the new super for tiffin might be in some trouble for unlawful restraint at previous school?

Tiffin City Schools are an absolute disaster....this is their third Super in a row with major issues and this one hasn't even started on the job yet. The last one got two DUI's, and was a sex addict and the one before that was a whack job. I mean, they really know how to pick them. And their levy just got blasted. Pretty bumpy road ahead in that district.

Nothing to do with this discussion.... well maddie, any idea what the heck is happening over there? I would think at some point the community would start to mistrust the school boards ability to hire a superintendent. However, things like cycle through all districts it seems, this just happens to be Tiffin's time.

Richrod...I dont know as I no longer live there. I just go by word of mouth and what I read but there are people that arent happy with school board decisions. Tiffins schools are normally very good. Seems like they screwed up a great chance to fix a problem but I will say that this is a football forum and I dont see what this has to do with Columbian football. Just seems like a chance to take more digs at the program.

Let’s move the discussion to a big decision....who starts at Qb? I think you have to start Roggow. Maybe try Beaston at tight end but take the next three years and go all in on Roggow.

Sounds like this new Super will be let go, so they’ll be on their 4th super in about five years. BOE is really under fire.

Michael Zalar, who was one of the three finalists for the Norwalk superintendent job before pulling out of the race, is the new superintendent at Tiffin City Schools.

I assume related to the late, great "Zip" Zalar, legendary coach and teacher at Calvert.... Just wondering how the community will respond to him being a retire/rehire. I'm sure he will do a good job, but will be tough sledding passing levies, etc. until the Board is voted out.

Hard to trust people who are quick to jump ship for themselves. Also heard a kid from Clyde is transferring? Is he a wrestler too? I know he plays football.

Anyone who wrestles only, that I do not know.

Overmyer was the name I read on another site (just relaying what I read elsewhere, no idea if it's true)

I will say again that tc scheduling Avon lake was a mistake.

I think they are over scheduled. The SBC is tough enough without adding the meat grinder non league schedule. I like Fremont and Springfield. Mayfield? What is the point. No natural rivalry. I would have looked for Start, Bowsher, Clay, Maumee, Whitmer, etc. Bad move also with Avon Lake. 6-4/7-3 with this and danger of injuries. Not being a hater....just calling it like it is. In fairness, TC can't win. Last couple years, their non-conference was weak. Now, they up the ante, and get criticized. By who? The sbc is a tough conference.

Still standing by that prediction? Of course! I hope so too. Once thing I keep forgetting is that basically everyone makes the playoffs now. In the past, two losses might have been all it took to keep TC out. Another key is staying healthy. Hopefully they came out of this with all key players healthy.
