Ontario Takes a step backwards after getting thumped by the Truckers. Was very frustrated with some of the plays not being executed. Many times Wideouts were wide open. Carey will be a tough opponent especially up at Devil stadium. Coach will rally the boy's and get the best out of them the next 2 weeks should be wins improving on Last Year's 2-8 Record if they get these 2 and maybe 1 out of the last 3 then 5-5 in Hawks first year. Good start for the future.
Ontario 42 Carey 28

2-8 playing a tougher schedule last year. Swapping Cardington from Danville and Carey from Vermillion are big changes but not team improving. IMO

I would disagree with that statement and so would Calpreps. They have Cardington as a slight favorite over Danville and Carey the same over Vermillion. So if anything their schedule is slightly more difficult.

Compared to last season? You do understand they played Danville and Vermilion last year. In 2015 Vermilion and Danville were both favored by Calpreps to beat Carey and Cardington.

That's not the case this season and last season Vermillion would have been favored over Carey by 1 whole point.

According to Calpreps, last season Danville was better than Cardington and Vermilion was better than Carey. So with those 2 games changing from the 2015 Danville/Vermilion to the 2016 Cardington/Carey. I was not comparing the teams from this season. I was comparing the change from last years teams to this years teams.

I'll try to say it better. Beating the 2015 Danville and Vermilion teams was a taller task than the 2016 Cardington and Carey teams. I'm not saying the 2016 are pushovers. And had they won all 4 the points collected from those wins would have been much different.

You made the assumption that they dumbed down their schedule and when it was shown to be inaccurate you now tried unsuccessfully to pivot to this.

I meant that the statement made by others, that going from 2-8 LAST YEAR to a possible 4-6 or unlikely 5-5 this year, does not positively mean a team has improved when you change the schedule. I did not look to see how good Danville or Vermilion was this season when I originally posted but I knew Cardington was not as good as a 13-1 team and I doubted Carey compared to Vermilion. Nothing more.

The schedule change from last year's teams to this years teams. 2015 D7 Danville 13-1 state semi-finalist D4 Vermilion 4-6 to 2016 D6 Cardington 3-2 (currently) D6 Carey 2-3 (currently)

But Scooter this seasons Ontario team can't play last seasons Danville or Vermillion teams they can only this seasons Danville and Vermillion teams and so far the numbers would tend to suggest that their schedule changes increased the degree of difficulty in that regard.

Do you know for a fact that it was Ontario that did the "swapping"?
Vermilion did not like traveling to Ontario for a football game. They made that clear when they backed out of the NOL, using that as the reason, when Ontario was added as the 8th member. But week 6 was a problem for both, thus the game. Vermilion going to the NEW SBC next year is getting ready for that by having 6 of their members on their schedule this year. They also "swapped" out 5 other non-SBC schools from their schedule this year.
OBVIOUSLY Carey also has a week 6 problem as they are a member of the the 9 school N-10. OBVIOUSLY Ontario and Carey are the closest schools to each other in the state with a week 6 scheduling problem. OBVIOUSLY this is a 1 year contract, as Ontario will no longer have a week 6 week problem next year as they are joining an 8 school league.
Danville has had a lot of scheduling problems as they are part of a 4 school football league. Danville will no longer have scheduling problems next year as they will be joining an 8 school league. Danville "swapped in" Centerburg. A closer school, a smaller Division school, that will also be a member of the new Morrow/Knox County league with Danville. Why would Danville want more than a 1 year contract with Ontario when they knew they were joining a new 8 school league? Instead of playing Ontario, they get to know about a football team in their new league, one year in advance.
Vermilion and Danville had more to gain by the "swap". Do the research.

What this proves is scooty does not discriminate. He's MORE than happy to have an asinine argument with anyone over his besmirching of anything to do with Ontario.

Ontario outscored CF 14-0 in the 2nd half to lose by a TD Did you see Ontario play Cardington? Did you see Ontario play TC? When was the last time Ontario scored 59? When was the last time Ontario beat a larger division school by 26? Heck it was YOU who said Ontario was gong to beat Norwalk by 3 scores! It was YOU who said Hawkins' system is starting to get through to these kids, I don't see this being a low scoring game by Ontario against Norwalk. You were telling everyone how much Ontario had improved, before the Norwalk game. If nothing else this proves one MUST "look up" before slandering. Ya galion, no one dare tell scooty what he's thinking....when he's typing what he's thinking.

Doubling your win total would be a pretty good indicator.

Considering they no longer have a State Semi-final team on their schedule would help any team.

With all due respect it's a D7 school and not one from the MAC.
