I haven't really tossed a discus or shotput since the mid '80s in college.... give an old guy a cheap thrill and talk to me about the areas best tosses. I'm preferential to the guys throws, but a girl who can heave it is fun to see too... By the way, did any of you see the young lady from OSU who threw an indoors natty in the shotput? Cool story in that she was only throwing mid-40's in HS, but got on a serious training program at OSU and pushed the envelope...59'5.5"...a pretty serious toss... ohiostatebuckeyes.com/adelaide-aquilla-wins-shot-put-national-championship/

Crestview's Meagan Garret with a school record 144'6" makes her one of the favorites for a DIII Title. She qualified for State as a Freshman and Sophomore
Ontario's duo in the lady's shot. Jahlaya Rimblart 36-8 and Bree Mills 37-11.

Cool.... I still want a distance. I know there's a few of us on here that threw in the NOL, and it's always good to hear what our youth are doing. Even though the NOL is defunct for all practical purposes, like many on here, I will always have that association in my mind and remember those days fondly.

Bellevue Junior Kaylin Howey sat the school record in the shot last week. 41' 4 1/2" I think her pr in the disc is around 120'.
You probably don't follow Girls Pole Vault, but Margaretta's Stimmel has beaten the state record this season and currently sits top 3 in the nation(I believe).

41' is real respectable and the 120' is the discus is too. I don't follow girls PV, but if she's top 3 nationally, it sounds like I should. My older brother was an NOL PV Champion in the late '60s, and in my youth he tried to teach my shotput/discus tossing body how to pole vault as well. Never made it off the ground... LOL!!!
Wow...she is just shy of 14'... that's awesome. I had to look her up...

I think Margaretta is D3, and the current posted record is a little over thirteen feet in Div. 3. Even the D1 record is something like 13'7".... 14' is a phenomenal height.

Even if she does (She won’t), she still has the 100 and 100 hurdles where she broke the sbc records in. Great track athlete.

I'm certain she wants to win her PV...who wouldn't want to win their events, however this is a no brainer. Top three in the nation brings all the D1 track scouts... even if she doesn't place in the state, they will beat her door down to get her signed and that alone will make her a winner in the long run...
Look at the Aquilla from tOSU... threw mid-40's in HS...didn't win a state title with an 8.8 lb shot, but now has a natty indoors as a junior, and two B1G titles to boot, and has the single best throw in the nation outdoors this year at something like 62'. A shot put that far is exceptional... and yes, I looked it up..she's been throwing the same weight for years.... HS and NCAA girls shot is 8.8 lbs.

Being a very good pole vaulter and with her sprinter's speed, college coaches will be drooling over her becoming a world class pentathlete.

Both D1 and D3 over 60' and D2 just under 60' for the state champs in the shot.. I as watching the finals reporting online via Baumspage. Kid from Mohawk HS was a state champ in the polevault at 14'6"... D1 was 17'...that's an incredible height for a HS kid...

Yes she did. That’s so impressive. She beat her seed time in the hundred by about .5 sec and got the PV at 13’6”..
