I think most folks know by now that a new Fremont Ross High School is currently under construction, and will be finished by the end of this year. It's basically being built on the same property the current high school is located on.
Unlike the current building which has just one gym, the new building will have two, an auxiliary gym and a main gym. A knowledgeable source told me yesterday that the new auxiliary gym is bigger than the Purple Pit, and the new main gym is even larger than that, seating approximately 2,000.
Also, although not sports related, the new school will also have a state of the art performing arts center as well.

When you say "end of the year," do you mean it will be ready for the start of the next school year, or do you mean calendar year, in which case students would start attending, say coming back from Christmas break?

Forgive me since it's more about new school, but 2000 seems again too small for a school like Ross. Would have preferred close to 2500.

If the state is providing the majority of monies, they tell the District what they can have and not have for gymnasiums. If the district wants more or better they have to come up with the extra money.

Will it be grades 9-12 there or how will this setup be for the whole campus once it’s all done?

Tonight's girls game against Toledo Central Catholic is the last game in the current purple pit. Btw...Ross and Central are both expected to challenge for the TRAC title, so this final game in the pit should be a really good one.

Instead of new thread, to keep things Ross related, new enrollment has 400 boys and 400 girls.

Instead of new thread, to keep things Ross related, new enrollment has 400 boys and 400 girls. This makes things interesting when it comes to the NLL. I thought that Ross would be in the "big school" tier. But with these new numbers, it appears that the Little Giants would be in the smaller tier. Times sure have changed. **insert old man voice here*** When I was a student at Ross in the 1970's, Ross had well over 2,000 students. Now it is half that size. Once the baby boomers kids graduated, the school size shrunk. The loss of jobs in the community had some effect on the loss of students, as well as open enrollment. Will the new version of the NLL succeed? Or will the smaller schools like Ross. BG, and Clay look to create a league without Perrysburg, Findlay and Whitmer?
