Will Central win the title again? Or will Findlay, Ross, St. Johns, or Whitmer break through and win it?

The TRAC preseason coaches poll... TCC Fremont Ross Findlay Whitmer SJJ SFS Lima Senior Clay The Little Giants have Columbian at home in the lid lifter and I am hard-pressed to find a better game one in the region. Should Ross pull out the win it is likely that they will be 5-0 heading into Findlay, that should be a fantastic game even if Fremont is 4-1 going in. I can see a big year for Ross this year but it going to take a measure of consistent mental toughness that they have sometimes lacked in the last few years at times. Perhaps toughness is a poor descriptor, maybe it's a loss of focus. I have no dog in this fight aside from seeing some great Ross teams and players over the decades and being nostalgic to see that type of Little Giant team again. I also think that if there is a shred of pride in that program they will make a statement against Sandusky this year and I fully expect it to happen and I'm an old Sandusky guy (emphasis on old). The people I've spoken to lead me believe that this is a 9-1 or 8-2 team, I think Findlay will be the pivotal game. If they come out 6-0 or 5-1 I think anything can happen.

This years Ross-Sandusky game will be the 116th all-time. It's going to be a very special game and weekend in Fremont as we honor our NFL hall of famer, Charles Woodson. This weeks Ross-Columbian game will be a great start to the season as both teams are very good.

Until I ran into the induction ceremony I always presumed that Charles was already on the HOF. It was a matter of when, not if.

A little unrelated, but saw Northview’s freshmen team lost 0-28 against Eastwood tonight. A little surprising there considering the size difference.

Whitmer with a dub over Start tonight. I think 49-18ish.

I attended the Findlay/Anthony Wayne game and watched the end of Ross/Columbian on YouTube. I was impressed with Findlay in 2020, this is not the same team. Findlay will need to vastly improve if they are going to challenge in the TRAC. Unless the TRAC is down I simply do not see the Trojans being a factor. They have a first-year head coach and will certainly get better but I left Donnell underwhelmed.

It very well, may be the top 'game of the year' in northwest Ohio. Both have outstanding teams and their battle didn't disappoint. Columbian was sitting on a comfortable 22 point lead in the fourth quarter, when the wheels came completely off for the Tornadoes. Tiffin scored what they thought was the final nail in the coffin, with pass play to put them up 36-14 in the 4th quarter. What an exciting game....Ross opened the game with two scoring drives to go up 14-0, then Tiffin responded with 36 consecutive points, before Fremont totally put it together to close the game. In the 4th quarter, after the Columbian score, Fremont had two quick scoring drives and their defense stepped up to throttle the Tiffin offense and it came down to Fremont scoring in desparation on the last play of the game, with no time left on the clock and converted a crucial 2 point conversion, to pull out the 37-36. A stunning defeat for the Tornadoes and a game for the ages for the purple and white. Definately going to look up the YouTube video!

I was disappointed that Ross gave up 36 unanswered. Tiffin is very solid, but Ross was better than that to allow it to happen. But, I will also state it seemed Little Giants were too conservative until 4th Q. Then, I saw same Offense from last year; explosive by letting Holmes make plays.

Heard the Lima Sr game has been canceled due to covid Joe Eitel lists the 9/3 game v. Mansfield Senior as cancelled too. Apparently their has been an outbreak at LSH.

Already confirmed Mansfield Senior will go to North Canton Hoover instead
Meanwhile, Sandusky could be an issue as well.

I apologize for nitpicking, but both were in Buckeye League. Buckeye Conference followed Buckeye League

Findlay started freshmen phenom Montgomery who went 16-18 220 yards and 4 TD passes in his first start . Kid already has offers from Michigan, Tennessee and Penn State.

He was offered by Michigan as an 8th grader. I expect he will own all Findlay school records by the time he is done.

I was in attendance and the Montgomery kid is good. He's the brother of Luke so I suspect that Michigan was trying to sweeten the enticement. Things might have changed a bit where Findlay is concerned in the TRAC but keep in mind that it was Bowling Green. Findlay plays TCC this week so we are about to find out. Switching Mason Roth to wideout gave them more weapons in the passing game.
