Jackets just beat the defending Stanley Cup champs 7-1. That's now 11 straight wins, and puts Columbus in first place in the division by a point.

Tonight was the first time in NHL history that 2 teams on 12+ game winning streaks have met, and it was played between the 2 teams who entered the league together during the last expansion back in 2000. Columbus won the game 4-2 over Minnesota, extending their win streak to 15 games, and improving their record to 26-5-4.

^Yes they did.
And last night it became 16 straight, which is now the 2nd longest win streak in NHL history. The longest is 17, held by the 92-93 Penguins.
Jackets will attempt to tie the record tomorrow night in DC.

Nice 7-0 win last night over the Islanders.
While the Jackets are currently in 4th place in the Metro division, they do have a better record than every team in the Atlantic Division.

For the 3rd time in franchise history, the Columbus Blue Jackets have clinched a playoff spot.
And for the first time in their history, they have reached triple digit points, as they are currently sitting on 100 (tied with Washington for the most in the NHL, with 11 games to go)

Final record 50-24-8. That is the 3rd best record in the Eastern Conference and 4th best record in the NHL overall....but due to the NHL's convoluted playoff system they get rewarded for that effort by starting the playoffs on the road against the team with the 2nd best overall record in the league.
Game 1: Wednesday, April 12, 7:30 p.m. (in Pittsburgh) Game 2: Friday, April 14, 7 p.m. (in Pittsburgh) Game 3: Sunday, April 16, 6 p.m. (in Columbus) Game 4: Tuesday, April 18, 7:30 p.m. (in Columbus) Game 5: Thursday, April 20 (in Pittsburgh)* Game 6: Sunday, April 23 (in Columbus)* Game 7: Tuesday, April 25 (in Pittsburgh)*
