What is going on at Bucyrus? I know they took their beatings in football but there is no way the talent in that school has dried up that much.

Is Edison the worst D3 team in Ohio?

Is Edison the worst D3 team in Ohio? Crazy thing here is that between last year and this year Edison has won two games. Both of those wins came against New London. I know every season you’ll have your lower level teams but I’ve never seen a season where so many teams have fallen so hard.

Won’t be surprised if CC gets close to 100 points tonight.

So Edison is getting better every week.

Final, a barnburner if you missed it. CC 77 New London 20
Keep your ticket stubs. May be worth something someday.

Guess everyone who scheduled new london “did a great job” this year as i highly doubt they get a win. 51 to 10 at half. Bench played entie 2nd half with the running clock and a lot in the 2nd qtr. Western game could be even worse for new london and they gotta play them twice. Been better to play OG i agree. Willard and Western will be more battle tested come districts. Only 1 game though. Over and done with.

For the kids who finish this season for New London I give a lot of credit to. They are taking beating after beating each game and they’ve only hit 40 points just once through 9 games so far. They still have some tough games left too so this isn’t going to get any better for them. Has to be hard for those kids when they know what’s coming each game.

Someone has to play New London but if you are trying to be an elite program in the state you do not pick them up unless you are looking for easy wins.

Good lord New London. Their Sports programs resemble my investments in cryptocurrencies.... They're at all-time lows.

South Central has held every opponent to 47 or fewer points except one. They let up 59 to Western Reserve. I think in the FC it’s Western Reserve then everyone else.

What is going on at Bucyrus? I know they took their beatings in football but there is no way the talent in that school has dried up that much. There is some talent there, and the kids play really hard. From what I hear, they have some good kids. But, the school itself has become very small. At one time, there was close to 3000 kids (1971) in the system. Now, about 1100. With a shrinking city, a land lock district and tremendous losses via open enrollment, the overall talent pool has become limited.

I know it’s a conversation for another day but I’ve wondered why a town the size of Bucyrus needs to have two small schools in it. It’d be like taking Norwalk high school and splitting it in two. I know when it comes to school pride and town egos some things never change.

Who would’ve thought. New London with 17. My goodness. Just demoralizing. Their next game is against South Central who’s playing very well right now.

Wynford comes inside the city on the other three sides.

Wynford and Colonel Crawford are neighboring local school districts who now encroach the Bucyrus city limits, but the district boundaries were drawn a century ago. Mt. Zion High School which covered the south west side (Bucyrus Township) was occasionally referred to as Bucyrus Rural…not sure if that was that districts actual name pre-consolidation or not. crawfordcountybasketball.com/Crawford.pdf

With a shrinking city, a land lock district and tremendous losses via open enrollment, the overall talent pool has become limited. It's easy to blame school district boundaries that have not changed over the years. As awebgsu points out, the school district boundaries have been the same since before the CC and WYN districts were formed in the early 1960's. It's actually the Bucyrus city limits that have changed over the years, expanding and encroaching on the surrounding township's property tax base. Many of the 1900 kids Bucyrus lost since 1971 were due changing demographics in Ohio and the Nation. All schools have been affected, including CC and WYN. They both have closed unneeded buildings since 1971, just like Bucyrus has. It's also easy to blame open enrollment on Bucyrus' sports woes, but that is just a symptom of the real problems. Bucyrus needs to identify and come to terms with WHY so many parents are open enrolling the kids out of Bucyrus to neighboring districts. Yes, Bucyrus has lost some good athletes. But they are a very small minority of the total number of students lost. They have lost a very much larger number of just plain ole' good students. The reason for that is what Bucyrus has to figure out. A school doesn't have to be big to compete. I'm pretty sure Bucyrus is still larger in enrollment than any of the schools surrounding them.

I'm aware of the 8 man football league, but I'm not so sure there are any 3 on 3 basketball leagues.
