I was wondering how the OHSAA comes up with putting a school in a region? some make sense while others like the one Marion Harding is in makes no sense to me... they are in region 8 of D2 which is mostly Cincinnati schools which makes no sense to me geographically... makes more sense for them to be in region 7 geographically heck i dont even get how Lima Senior is in it lol... IF Harding ever made a playoff game they would have to travel 3 hrs away how do they come up with who is where?

OHSAA keeps the number of teams in each region close to the same. In d2 it is 26 or 27 Harding and Lima just got caught up in a numbers game as did two Youngstown schools getting put into region 7.

To make the number of DII teams in Region 7 and Region 8 equal. They had to keep going Northward to get 2 more teams. Lima Sr. and Harding were the 2 Southern most schools to the Northwest. The same thing happened to Ontario and Shelby in DIV. Instead of logically being in the same Region with schools at or North of US 30, they are in a Region with Steubenville and schools further south along or near the Ohio River.
The more Divisions there are the more this happens.
