Bellevue..Twin lakes golf course restaurant, Gilberts, Benchwarmers, Rayz route 20, and Amsden house are the ones to check out. Copper top bakery has some great pastries and donuts and cold rush dairy on the west end of town and millers on the east end are phenomenal ice cream stands with great sandwiches, burgers and dogs. especially millers with their miller boy burger. TracKs end restaurant on the north end has trouble staying consistant due to staffing issues, spotty service and not being open on some days. casa mexicana has decent mexican fare for the area, and happy garden is hit and miss. if you want killer barbecue shredded pork go visit my cousin out at the corner of portland road and route 4 near the turnpike where he runs a mobile barbecue stand whose open from march to october. besides pizza, where else do you like to go for your mom and pop craving?

Huron - Berardi's used to be tough to beat, but their prices went way up a number of years ago even before the current inflation spike. Lemmy's is decent. Pied Piper oh yeah. Philbo House.
Norwalk - Hard to beat FreightHouse.
Port Clinton - Jolly Roger Seafood House, best perch in the area now that New Sandusky Fish House is kaput. Super spendy, though.
Bowling Green - Mr Spots for those cheesesteaks.
Perkins - Never been to the Old Dutch, heard great things about it.
Vermilion - Quaker Steak & Lube.
Cleveland metro - Old Town/Danny Boys (Amherst, Ricky Rover), King Wah (Fairview Park), Hyde Park Chop House (Downtown, not exactly mom-n-pop lol), Stancatos (Parma), Courtyard Cafe (Brecksville), Casa D'Angelo (North Royalton).

Fremont - Tackle Box II Get the best perch dinner around and a relaxed and fun atmosphere.
Perrysburg & Fostoria - American Table, anything on the menu is as good as it gets, wonderful soups.
Bowling Green - Sam B's, great dining experience, great draft beer and wine selections.
Bowling Green - Trotter's Tavern, If you're want the best steak around, this is THE place!
Republic - Fatheads, Gotta try the Fathead Burger, but great pizza, steaks and pasta. Everythings good here.

Mansfield Uncle John's downtown
Mentioned on here earlier both Jolly Roger and Tackle Box 2... IMO Tackle Box 2 wins by a landslide. Jolly Roger is good but Tackle Box is really good.

The legendary BBQ ribs restaurant in New Riegel, Ohio has been sold to new owners.
The New Riegel Cafe, known by locals as simply, 'Boes BBQ', has been a local staple
since the end of WWII, when Pete Boes started the restaurant.
It has been truly a family run business, handing the operations to his sons, the most recent of which was Richard Boes.
The unique sauce has been a closely guarded secret all these years and even waitresses and cooks were unable to crack the code and gain access to it. Pete Boes and his sons afterwards, always made the sauce in secret, away from prying eyes.
The Boes are celebrating their many years of service to the community and thousands of loyal customers, that traveled from all parts of Ohio and adjoing states to experience their ribs & chicken.
All dine-in meals are half off on the 2nd meal, all weekend.

My opinion, but i always felt that the bbq place is overrated. I liked sauced a whole lot better and even the bar they have across the street from the bbq place. lol

As a railfan who Frequents Fostoria the American Table has some decent fare like taco salad.I forgot the name of that buffet that was out on 199 that closed 20 plus years ago but they had a killer buffet! You should also check out flippin jimmies and whistlestop deli for deli sandwich fare.
Other places in Fotown to check out are Rplace bar and grille, Kemosabes, dells, Hi Scores, and the ice cream stand.

As a railfan who Frequents Fostoria the American Table has some decent fare like taco salad.I forgot the name of that buffet that was out on 199 that closed 20 plus years ago but they had a killer buffet! You should also check out flippin jimmies and whistlestop deli for deli sandwich fare. Other places in Fotown to check out are Rplace bar and grille, Kemosabes, dells, Hi Scores, and the ice cream stand. I think the steakhouse/buffet was Ponderosa or after they closed it was Frankie's Best, that was excellent. A friend took us out for a steak years ago. He ordered the best and biggest steak they had on the menu. It arrived and he proceded to cut into it and the steak flew off his plate and across the room, ricocheting across the floor. We were laughing so hard and our friend's face became beet red from embarrasment. The manager happened to see what transpired before him and promptly came over and told him they would replace his steak and they did. |

Granny's Kitchen - Galion. Their perch dinner is outstanding AND it was ocean perch. I could not believe it. Also more than one person can eat.

Lulu’s Kitchen and Old 30 BBQ in Bucyrus.
Channel 4 or 10 voted Lulu’s burger the best in central Ohio.
V&M and Fast Eddie’s in Bellville.
The Barn in Smithville. I’m not a fan of buffets, but theirs downstairs is the best I’ve had in a long time.
