There are a lot of conference changes in Ohio that will take place for the 2023-24 school year.
The biggest two that affect the North Coast area are the dissolution of the TRAC and the Oak Harbor for Woodmore trade that is taking place between the SBC and NBC.
We'll definitely have to make at least one change to the board to reflect this, and it may be a good opportunity to re-organize the conference forums in general.
We've decided seek the board's overall input and create this poll and thread for discussion.
Note, this thread is set as an announcement, which means this exact thread will show up in every forum on the board until the poll closes.
Here are the four possible layout changes I've come up with, listed by order of least change to most change. The idea is to keep the number of forums the same, it's just a matter of which conferences to group together.
Option 1:
- SBC
- MOAC/KMAC
- OCC/NLL
- FC/N10
- Ohio
The bare minimum option. Simply changing "TRAC" to "NLL." Every option includes this change.
This option does not include the NBC. The next 3 will, and will all have one tri-conference forum.
Option 2:
- SBC
- MOAC/KMAC
- OCC/NLL/NBC
- FC/N10
- Ohio
This adds the NBC to the lineup, by simply tacking it on with the OCC/NLL so that the other forums can stay as is.
The next two NBC inclusive options will change things up a bit based on geography.
Option 3:
- SBC
- MOAC/KMAC/OCC
- NLL/NBC
- FC/N10
- Ohio
The most geography based lineup. Keeps the MOAC and KMAC together, with those 2 plus the OCC forming a tri-forum with a large-medium-small feel.
Option 4:
- SBC
- MOAC/OCC
- NLL/NBC
- FC/N10/KMAC
- Ohio
Geography + size. SBC, medium to larger schools south and southeast of the SBC, medium to larger schools west and northwest of the SBC, small schools south and east of the SBC.
Additional Notes:
- We'll keep this poll and discussion open for 3 weeks, until the Monday after week 12 (weeks 10-12 tend to be the busiest traffic on here, so that should give everyone an opportunity to see this)
- The changes for the football forums will be made right after the state championships end. The basketball forums will change after the state tournament concludes in March of 2023. That way offseason talk for both sports can happen in the new layout.
- Old threads will be moved to their new forum homes as needed.
