Calvert going down was the shocker of the night. Crestview was way better than their record showed and it was their night - they didn't miss much. OF course an Etzler led Crestview. Calvert was pretty young - they'll be back next year.
One public school won it. Looks fair and level to me.
I know, I know. Hear it every year. At the highest levels it looks very obvious. Recruiting and ability to control your numbers, puts you over the top.
Regionals - 20 privates, 44 public. Regional final - 13 private, 19 public. State Semis - 8 private, 8 public. State finals - 5 private, 3 public. State Champs - 3 private, 1 public.
FWIW....12 private and 44 publics in the football regional championships.
thats because the big city schools like cleveland cincinnati and toledo are mostly private schools.. and its an extension of their JO season. smaller schools are mostly your public .. this first year i remember lake catholic in D-3 called that champion back in august.
