Is dude okay? Is Lex back at full strength or still dealing with suspensions? Do those suspensions make a big difference? I have heard that they will be back, not 100% sure about that. It has hurt from a depth perspective. Of course one was the starting point guard all season. The other was the 1st guard off the bench. Although Lex did not have them in the 1st match up with Shelby a couple of weeks ago. And Lex won that game at Shelby. What that game means for tonight. Probably nothing, other than confidence for Lex and incentive for the Whippets.

I watched Marquette win the Big East, spurring a Marquette graduate friend of mine to harass me with memes about why my Friars suck. Then I watched Xavier snap Providence's undefeated home season last night, spurring a personal protest of going to Weber's in Shelby due to the bartender being a Xavier fan. Luckily, I have curated my life carefully to not be friends with anyone from Lexington. No one can hurt me tonight. I think I'm catching onto this "safe space" thing. It's nice to know that you have refrained from being friends with anyone from Big Lex! Just hope it doesn't turn into some sort of "Trump derangement syndrome" type of thing. 🙃 As for as the game tonight should be a close one either way.

It was fine having this district at Ashland HS during covid year but we are now starting to see this venue is way too small.

Sorry, but AHS is way too small a venue for this district tourney IMO

My brother used to own Weber's...just far enough away that i couldn't stop by every night. I got in trouble enough when I went. What's even worse, a friend owned Phil's. SO on the way to Weber's i had to stop at Phil's AND on the way home from Weber's had to stop at Phil's. I often wonder how i stayed alive in those days AND stayed married. Did you know Weber's has the longest continuing liquor license in Richland County? At one time it was a stagecoach stop.

From my vantage point on OH Report that was a bad call on Bruskotter's 5th foul.

Shelby lost that game the moment Bruskotter fouled out. Kid went for 37.

Unless you think Shelby only has one player. Lol. Yes, I know how they lost the game. I was being facetious. They have plenty of kids who can hit shots and deliver in big situations. But this was a one game season, and Bruskotter was on a tear. So if you don’t think their chances dropped dramatically in the last 2:07 without him, your being disingenuous.

Great game and a shame someone had to lose. Both teams really left it all on the floor. Couple takeaways from me. Shelby was well prepared and had a great game plan. Definitely learned a lot from the first game and made rebounding a huge emphasis. Second, I thought when Shelby was up 51-40 and had a few opportunities to extend that lead but had 3-4 possessions where shot selection wasn’t good. Lex went on a 10-0 over the end of the third and into the fourth quarters. Big momentum swing and from that point on it was a battle. Not going to complain about officials as I thought we got some gift calls so Bruskotter fouling out was probably consistent with the way the game was called. And finally, I think it is obvious why Bruskotter was District POY. Huge double-double and was a leader all night. This one will sting for a long time with these kids. I predict these two will see each other in Ashland again next year.

Great game to watch from the easy chair. i felt Shelby got a little impatient a few times and missed. Lex came up big whenever they needed a big shot in crucial situations. They seemed to have multiple guys they could go to where as Shelby only the one.
Lex needs to take care of the ball and pound it inside vs Sandusky . I now think they win that game because they'll crush Sandusky on the boards.

If I’m not mistaken the two suspended players from Lex May be back for this game. I was told it was a 4-game suspension. Not sure what kind of difference that will make. Yes they are bigger than Sandusky but can they handle their press? I think Streaks win easily.

DO you think the District will make a decision to move the District final to another site?? Could they move it to Madison, Ontario, Galion, or Willard to accommodate that large crowd. I figured that game could be sold out before noon today.

I figured that game could be sold out before noon today. No, they won't move it. Getting workers at another site would be hard to do with this short notice. Places like AU (hosting conference tourney games already) are already busy this weekend with their own events as well.

IMO, Shelby lost the game at 3 key points. End of half, held ball for last shot for nearly minute, turned ball over and Lex scored. End of 3rd, held ball for last 25 of 30 seconds, turned ball over and Lex scored. End of OT, held ball for 20 of last 25 seconds (at least got a shot off), Lex rebounded and ran length of floor to score. The turnovers at half and end of 3rd quarter were huge and killer, IMO. Those two plays were potential total of 4 to 8 point play turnarounds. Lex better coached, better disciplined team. Remember Lex was playing short-handed also the entire game. Think Lex will give the Streaks huge problems with their discipline and length. Congrats to both teams on a fun game

Watching Lexington play lately without multiple players being available is not the same as being at full strength. Even last night Lex lost its 3rd player when he fouled out with 2:37 left and two other players with 4 fouls. Good game to watch, Bruskotter shot the ball well.

Bring back Ashland University People that keep asking to bring back AU haven't been to AU in awhile. With their new bleachers I'm not sure its that much bigger then Ashland high school. Not only are there less rows of bleachers now, they also took a huge section and put seat back seats which is great for fans, but reduces how many people you can pack in.

Ashland U is still significantly larger than Ashland High School. The one side of Ashland HS only goes up 9 or 10 rows!

It's definitely bigger then Ashland high school but is smaller then it was before remodeling. Ashland HS may hold about 1400 and if its more its not much. AU has to be close to 1800-2000. Even if it is only 400 more seats that is what is needed.

I know someone else already mentioned it but we’ve long moved on from the Covid era and now back to normal and I think the OHSAA needs to take that into consideration once basketball gets into the District round. I’m not sure everyone will be watching Sandusky and Lexington in the title game. I would think a sellout is coming.

It is wild to think that both these schools can seat more fans at their home gyms then can attend their district final game.

Depending on the hour, you could have a guy walk in bleeding from his forehead or a nice crowd with plenty of well to do folks having burgers and wings. No doubt webers has improved in "sophistication" over the years, but it has that really cool ability to let folks from all walks of life enjoy themselves. I also benefit from being shorter than the 6ft ceilings in the downstairs men's bathroom. I've seen tall fellas opt out of that to use the ladies room where they can stand up straight. Of course, I wasn't old enough to be a patron in the days when you could smoke in there. Phil's? That's a different animal. Like walking through the R&D department at Marlboro.
