That game was 14-6 with 2 mins left. Closer than final score indicates. I got Lucas winning the rematch this year. It was 17-6 with 5 minutes to play and Crestview went on a drive and scored to make it 24-6, then Crestview forced a fumble and it was scooped up and scored with just under 2 minutes to play to make it 31-6. Lucas was held to 98 total yards of offense by Crestview and the game was never in doubt. Crestview took two teams to the Buckeye Central 7 on 7 and played a lot of their sophomores. They went 3-2 at the Mansfield Senior 7 on 7 beating (D1) Canton Glen Oak, (D3) Mansfield Senior and (D4) Columbus Eastmoor Academy and losing to (D4) Cleveland Glenville and (D1) Findlay close. On a side note, their linemen placed 2nd in the linemen challenge. My point was, it was decently close in the 4th quarter. Why does Lucas have to play at Crestview again this year?

Because Crestview has a better field/stadium? Nothing wrong with Lucas place, don't get me wrong. When comparing the two though, Crestview has a better facility.

It's strange in the fact that Lucas normally plays teams on the road one season and home the next. See Clear Fork, Hillsdale, etc. Hillsdale's new stadium is massive. If it were a seating issue, we'd play Hillsdale at their place every year.

So if they played at Lucas they would be 6-4

Hell, Lucas already plays half the Firelands teams already. Lol. In football, basketball, baseball, we play basically everyone except NSP and Western Reserve.

I've said this a bunch; get Lucas into Firelands I heard through the grapevines that it was a matter of proximity. NSP didn't want to travel that far. I would hope this is not the case. Hell, it's only another 15 minutes past Crestview HS.

Is it safe to assume that western reserve host a 7 on 7 yesterday? Anyone know the teams or see anything impressive?

I suspect the concern about distance (if it's even a thing) is not with football or boys basketball but rather with all the other sports.

An hour drive 5-6 times annually should not keep a team like Lucas out of the mix. Just my 2 cents.

Really we could be talking Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Baseball and Softball. Cross Country, Wrestling and Track could be Conference meet only.

I hope not also. I was just correcting the mileage from an earlier post.

I've been out of the loop for some time; is there any word on whether or not they've officially stuck a fork in New London football, or are they still trying a rebuild?

NL will remain a JV team this year with the hopes of returning to varsity next year. I hear numbers are better (mid 20’s) but I think there are only 2 juniors and 1 senior on the team.

At this point, it only makes sense to add Lucas.

I don’t see NL leaving the FC anytime soon. They have 30 kids in junior high and only three kids between junior and senior class. They should be in the mid 30’s next year. Plymouth doesn’t have a JV and South Central might be in the same boat. I think NL is receiving some grace because others could be in the same situation soon.
