As the start of the 4th begins Buckeyes control a 20-3 lead. More comments to follow.

Ohio State has some work to do. Maybe not so much on defense but for sure on offense. Mccord was fine, I see a lot of people complaining about him but I blame the playcalling and Oline. Need to get Harrison more involved though, can’t throw at the best player in college football only 5 times.

I guess I’ll start off…..
Not impressed with McCord, to put it in the nicest way possible. First game as a starter and a performance he would surely like back. The biggest question that will plague the Buckeye nation this season, will Kyle McCord’s game play elevate every week to ensure he is getting the offensive weapons he has the ball and the ability to make plays.
Defense kept it to three and I’m happy about that.
Running backs and I’ll argue this all season, have the best RB room in the country. Henderson, Traynum, Williams oh and don’t for get about Hayden and Pryor. You always have fresh legs that can take it the distance.
They have a lot to work before Notre Dame, because as of now that’s going to be a game.

I blame it on having Miller, Barrett, Jones, Fields, Stroud, and Haskins as our starting QB’s.

I think Mccord was fine, was he amazing? No. But some of the play calling was so baffling, conservative, vanilla, whatever you want to call it. But they need to find ways to target Egbuka and Harrison more.

I also want to see more from the DE’s. Sawyer and JT seemed non existent a lot of the game. The DT’s did more than them.

I think Kyle played alright but when you put devin in, you gotta let him sling it. Play calling was atrocious tho.

We all saw it. Short yardage run game was suspect.
In prior years I called this out and all you Ryan Day lover boys said, "Ryan Day is the greatest coach, leave him alone."
Well, here we are again in 2023. That short yardage run game needs fixed before Michigan. Urban always fixed it during the season. ALWAYS Ryan Day has yet to fix it during the season, busy throwing for 1,900,455,672 yards vs Toledo instead of working on the run game vs Toledo, etc.
It's year 5 of the Ryan Day regime and he's still only with 1 win vs Michigan. Is he going to work on the run game vs Youngstown St? Or is he going to puff pass around to get McCord 400 yards passing while not focusing on what matters to beat Michigan.
Beat Michigan
PS - 1st game. Nothing to over analyze. The issues are seen. What will be fixed? We all know pass happy Day will work on fixing the pass game 1st. He ignores the run game every year and then we have to watch Michigan beat us every year because of this. Get it fixed Charmin Soft Day.

Traynum and Williams are a force to stop. In numerous short yard runs greats plays were made by a great LB and poor run blocking. Give it some time.

As a side note, I don’t like the new rule where the clock doesn’t stop after first downs. I read where Ohio State had 7 less offensive series than they did last year against Indiana.
Chip Kelly doesn’t like it either, if anyone hasn’t seen his comments on it go look him up on YouTube during his halftime interview.

If we played anyone with a pulse we would be 0-1. Day is not the answer. I would rather have Luke or Prime as coach. And that’s a ridiculous sentence to type out. They get more production out of lesser talent. We waste talent and send them off early. At least the whole Big10 looked average with nobody scoring 40 points. Oregon and USC can’t wait to join.

I want to see Colorado a little more before I punch my soul away to prime time. No doubt he has players, but how is that going to hold up against the likes of Oregon and USC. I wasn’t big on TCU this year, so while it’s a quality win I’m still holding my breath to a degree. I think regardless of where our buckeyes played the ones that went to the league weren’t staying any longer than they had to/needed to. Day is doing something right though folks.

Agreed on Colorado, I’m not giving them the hype until I see them against some other teams. TCU isn’t a good measuring stick.

Yeah TCU is a huge fraud like they were last year.

Look on the bright side everyone.. we could’ve gotten our butts kicked by Duke and only score 7 points.

Yeah TCU is a huge fraud like they were last year. Saying they are a fraud may be a little harsh, but as the National Champ Runner-up and being the pre-season #17 we can assume they lost quite a bit.

I think McCord looked serviceable. He’s got two more games to figure it out. If things slow down for him just a bit he’ll be slinging it all over the field. We have to get the running game going though because opposing D’s are going to continue to stack the box. And remember, it was a B1G team, not a Youngstown State. I say be patient.
