Ohio State is still officially alive for a playoff spot. Didn't take care of business Saturday so once again needs help. OSU needs Georgia to beat Bama Michigan to beat Iowa Louisville to beat Florida State Oklahoma State to beat Texas If those 4 things happen, Ohio State gets in through the back door for a 2nd straight year. Next year the 12 team playoff starts. - Top 5 Conference Champs get in - Iowa and Louisville would still be alive - Top 7 ranked teams after that get in - Bye goes to the Top 4 Conference Champs - (So OSU could be #4 but since it wouldn't be Conf Champ it would NOT get a bye) - Tulane, Troy, SMU and Liberty would all be battling it out for the 5th Conference Champ auto bid

So, are you saying Ohio State will be ranked higher than the winner of Washington v Oregon or do you have the PAC 12 champ in the 3rd slot (assuming the 4 things happen)?

Ken Carmen, who is nothing more than a talking head at 92.3 The Fan Cleveland and Fox 8,says his sources tell him if the LA Chargers fire Cleveland native Brandon Staley they are going to make a strong play for Day. They want him to coach Herbert.I don't know as I don't follow it as close as some just typing what he mentioned today.

OSU would prefer to have Washington win Friday night as opposed to Oregon. A one loss Washington still might get in ahead of Ohio State. They’d have three top twenty five wins as opposed to OSU’s two. They also have a better top win than Ohio State. The committee also has a history of over looking close title game losses.

I’d imagine Michigan will get whomever wins the pac 12 title game in the rose bowl. There’s talk that the committee wants to make sure the last Rose bowl of the PAC 12 era is a traditional B1G vs. PAC 12 match up.
All of this assuming that Michigan can conjure up the nine points needed to beat Iowa on Saturday.

The B1G west is little better than the MAC. Top 25 wins Washington- 3 OSU- 2 They’ll have a better win than OSU with the regular season win over Oregon. Washington would be tough to send packing over OSU

The problem is Oregon is a 9.5 point favorite over Washington and Texas is a 14.5 point favorite over OK State. So Ohio State will have to win the Committee vote over one loss Florida State, Texas and Washington assuming the heavy favorites win. That's not likely but I guess anything is possible. What would the line be if it's Georgia v Ohio State compared to Georgia versus Washington, Texas or Florida State? Ohio State might come out ahead in that comparison.

I believe most fans, especially if one isn't pro-Osu, doesn't believe anything the committee says. Just go ahead, put in the Buckeyes

Realistically the Buckeyes could squeeze in with just FSU losing. I’m not sure though I want to see the Buckeyes in the playoffs again. Kyle McCord isn’t the answer just yet. The kid at times shows he can make a darn good throw, then has moments were you scratch your head like a chimp in a zoo exhibit. Buckeyes have a defense and they got great players on offense, but that most important position is an enigma wrapped in a black hole being electrocuted by an eel.

Texas has no bearing that’s going to be an interesting discussion does 8 leap all the way to 4 for beating OK St?? Conference champ or not I’m interested in seeing how the committee looks at Texas. IMO the win against Alabama was against a different Alabama team we are currently looking at, but does the committee feel the same way.

Be thankful osu is not in playoffs. Not sure we could beat Texas, Oklahoma State or any of others with McCord and Day tandem. Shameful waste of talent by osu and Day. Hopefully get a chump team in a bowl game or we'll get embarrassed after most skill players sit that one out.

And your predictions haven’t been stellar lately, claiming the OSU/Michigan game wouldn’t be close. I’d love to see Ohio State in the playoffs, all you need is one good game.

If Bama beats Georgia and FLA St beats L'Ville does the SEC get shut out of the playoffs or does the committee put 2 SEC teams in with MI and TX or WA or FLA St or OH St? Those won't be easy decisions for the Committee. I'm guessing the 12 team playoff can't get here soon enough for some Committee members.

Man….. wish I could have said “I didn’t see Alabama winning” but I did. Georgia has hid behind a weak schedule all year. Great team, but Saban had his team on a different level to secure that game. Barring some kind of death spin I see the top four as followed.
1. Michigan 2. Washington 3. Texas 4. Alabama

Texas beat Bama and undefeated P5 teams should always be in
