Can Cardington knock them off and get the needed help to make the playoffs?
They are currently #8 but two teams behind them would jump them with a W.
I feel comfortable that Bexley will take care of Grandview Heights. Will also need Bishop Ready to lose their game as well. Of course, none of this matters of the Pirates don't take care of business vs the Freddie's.

According to what i've looked at Cardington can still get in with a Ready win. Drew Pasteur has Cardington and Ready winning and Ready jumping to 7th and Cardington staying in 8th. The team Cardington needs to lose according to Pasteur is Barnesville who is at home with Belmont Union Local. Pasteur is projecting them to lose thus putting them out of the playoffs. Also agree that Bexley should have no problem with Grandview.

If Cardington can make it, I'm not saying they would for sure win, but I also would NOT be surprised if they got a first round win also. MOAC Blue probably isn't great playoff prep for Highland and Mount Gilead, but I think recent years has shown that for the rest of the blue it really does help prepare them for the playoffs. If Cardington and/or Centerburg can draw River, Fort Frye, or Chesapeake I wouldn't be surprised to the MOAC get some wins in region 23. The teams in the region that make me more nervous would be Newark Catholic and/or Bishop Ready

You're absolutely right. I've already been doing my homework on some of those SE Ohio schools and would feel comfortable as to how we would match up. Fredericktown was the #8 last year and I believe made it to the Regional title game. Most importantly....I'm so desperately waiting for my alma mater to make it's first ever playoff appearance. We will be very young next year. We need it to happen now. C'mon football gods!?!?

Not to bring up a touchy subject, but when things happen to Cardington like what happened in 1990, it would appear the Pirates were under some sort of "curse." Not one to want to jinx too much, but the Chicago Cubs are in the World Series right now....... just sayin...

Ha-ha....and so are the Indians. Talk about cursed franchises!!! After 1990, my alma mater deserves a bit of luck! 😀

^^^ Are you implying that the Cubs may be "playing in November" before Dingtown?

USA, Actually USA no, because if I get my way the Cubs will win tonight, tomorrow, and Sunday and be World Series champs before November even gets here hahaha I'm just implying that 2016 seems to be in a parallel universe in the sports world.

It appears Cleveland's #1 and #5 starters are better than the Cub's starters. This could be easier for the Indians if their #2, #3 and #4 starters had not been injured since September.

It's been my experience that teams in South East Ohio play good football. A lot of hard nosed coal miner families down there.

Your definitely right, I was letting what happened in last playoff season influence my thoughts a bit much. Also letting too much history get in the way... MOAC vs PVC History (recent years) 2016 Fort Frye over Centerburg 44-6 2015 Fredericktown over Fort Frye 13-0 2013 Monroe Central over Centerburg 9-15 2010 Fredericktown over Monroe Central 36-7 2009 Fredericktown over Caldwell 47-7 2007 Fredericktown over Buckeye Trail 14-6 I guess when you look at it like that Centerburg still hasn't had much southeast success, only Fredericktown. Perhaps, maybe, possibly, but probably not had Centerburg drawn Chesapeake it would have at least gone down to the wire? Anyone else in the region though (that played last night at least) Ready, Fort (obviously), Barnesville, River nahh the Trojans probably wouldn't have competed. As Bellaire is currently beating Newark Catholic the East side is having a nice little start in region 23 action.
