#12 Lexington 28 #5 Maumee 14 Maumee was over ranked from the start. It did not take long to see that their easy schedule was the reason for their seeding. Which sparks a question since we now take 16 teams in a region, would you rather be a 8-2 team with a safe schedule and host a game OR would you like to be the team going 5-5 with an aggressive schedule that puts you at a 13 seed? Since a team cannot control their conference we are talking about may 3 games. Getting 2 home games will net the schools a lot more money with concessions and 50/50 drawings and no bus expenses for the team and matching band. The best non-league games to have are against teams that do not play anyone in your league. Thus in all other games they play it's possible to pick up 2nd level points. Only in half your league games can you pickup 2nd level points, as half the teams in your league are losing every week to another league team.

I'll give you Shelby but how many times is Ontario 11-1. Plus to me they are traditional rivals that Lex has played for decades. There has been a few times that Lex has been aggressive in non conference scheduling. When the played Olentangy and North Canton Hoover. Now in basketball Lex always schedules some bigger and skilled opponents, ie Ottawa-Glandorf, Gahanna Lincoln, Cincinnati Elder ect. I cannot say Ontario has ever been 11-1 and they aren't now, but I can tell you they have beat Lex 3 years in a row and Lex keeps playing them. They didn't drop and pick up a guaranteed win like some schools do. Those days were back when points were needed to make the playoffs. Now winning 4 games can get you in. Neither has Ontario wanted to drop Lexington.

Joe uses the same harbin formula as the OHSAA.

I’m not saying your are incorrect, but ask Galion if they’d rather played at home and lost or would they rather play in week 12?

I believe when Valentine was head coach. Ontario was 10-0 in the regular season. In the postseason they beat RV then lost to Margaretta. I remember that season. They played Margaretta in the only time Shelby hosted a playoff game at the old Skiles Field. Lots of Margaretta folks were not happy about the location. Esentially a home game for Ontario.

Lexington and Toledo Central Catholic have played once before at Tiffin. TCC winning 19-0 in the. Lex hung tough through the 3rd quarter down 6-0 entering the 4th quarter. It was a coming out party of sorts for Lex's Cade Stover.
Lex has some nice pieces this season in Joe Caudill, Brayden Fogle, and Seven Allen but the Irish will have too much for the Minutemen.
