Fantastic game. Both teams’ stars carried their respective teams.
It seemed like Ontario spent the first half trying to get everyone involved like it was Upwards basketball when they have a cheat code on their team.
Devito carried Shelby in the first half. The passing game opened up in the third quarter resulting in the big lead.
Shelby’s coaching staff is phenomenal. I wish they had been there when my boys played, BUT…
First and ten, heels on the goal line you have to go under center. About 1:40 on the clock. Ontario no time outs. If you fall forward for 2-3 yards you can take a knee the next two plays then punt. Even if you take a safety on the punt Ontario is down 6 with maybe :30 on the clock. I know. Easy for me. No pressure when you have no real responsibility. Hindsight is 20/20.

That hook and ladder felt personal. Ontario stands thinned out a tiny bit in the 4th, I would be kicking myself if I were any of those who left. To be fair, I think this was the latest game in Ohio tonight. A solid 3.5 hours.
I told myself I'd be rational after Shelby basketball had an all time game against Lutheran West last year. Felt like that was enough fortune to live off of for a few years. Turns out I'm full of it.
