From an interview with CC's coach on Swankonsports.com :
Teglovic says the Tigers like to play old school football. “They are a phenomenal football program. They are a school that has won a state championship, been a state runner up and been in the semi finals several times. We are playing against a legendary coach. Now that we have a chance to watch some film and take a look at these guys they do things old school,” he told Swankonsports.com on Monday, “They are going to get off the ball. They are going to run the football. They are going to play good, solid defense. They are going to hit you. We have to respond to their physical nature.”
Liberty Center is one the bed rock programs in Northwest Ohio, but Teglovic says they aren’t playing that tradition they are playing this year’s team. “We have some tradition here too and those kinds of things. It’s the 2016 Colonel Crawford Eagles against the 2016 Liberty Center Tigers. We are both good football teams. It is going to come down to who gets off the ball better up front. Who can limit turnovers and play good field position and all of those kinds of things you have to do to win a good football game,” he said.
Liberty Center’s losses this year are to unbeaten Patrick Henry (22-14) and to Swanton (28-15) another playoff team.
Teglovic says control of the line of scrimmage is going to determine the winner in this one. “It is going to be huge in this one. It is crucial in any game. When you watch film you get the understanding that both teams like to run the football and like to control that line of scrimmage. It comes down to which team is going to be able to do that along the offensive and defensive lines. Who wins that battle is going to go a long way in determining the outcome,” he said.
I'm going to go with CC in this one. Their defense seems to match up better with a running team rather than a team that spreads you out and wants to pass the ball. Heck, Wynford lost to a #8 seed last year, anything can happen.
