Figured we could use a thread to reminisce about some of the funny, crazy and epic things that went down during the Northern Ohio Sports Forum's 11 year history (March 2005 - April 2016.) It's a possibility that all of that archived data is lost to us forever due to the apparent crash of the entire excoboard message board hosting site....so....let's try to bring some of that history back to life by posting NOSF memories here.
I'll start us off with a few things:
The Brett Favre vs. Aaron Rodgers debates that went on for over a year between bbmind and a whole bunch of people, filling up multiple threads in the NLF forum
The actual debate forums with judges and/or voting that only lasted a short while
Galion and Upper leaving the NOL and the endless threads about it and carryover into game threads during their lame duck seasons

When Shelby hired their coach from SC and that SC mom found NOSF and told us how horrible the hire was, epic.

Pretty sure she was from Virginia, but yeah, that was pretty weird. If I remember right, she kept bringing that stuff up in just about every Shelby thread and her posts had more of a jilted ex-lover tone to them than that of simply an angry parent

I remember the Browns have a more recent playoff win than the Bengals. I believe I read that a couple hundred times.

Seriously that Poop can not be allowed here.

My favorite NOSF moments.
1. The Huron/Oak Harbor game thread a few years back. An epic eight page sand bagging battle between Dolphins and Race Bannon.
2. DA's endless copy and paste jobs from the drudge report.
Seriously though my all time favorite memory is watching people change their tunes and say " congratulations Port Clinton" in 2014 when we finally turned it around. Hey Scarlet! Still think your boy should have gotten the PC job? Coach Carmon's worked out pretty damn well for us.

I remember when Redskin said Michigan was "BACK"
Then they lost
Then the time when Redskin said Michigan was "Back"
Then they lost
Then the time when Redskin said Michigan was "Back"
Then they lost

Hey Scarlet! Still think your boy should have gotten the PC job? Coach Carmon's worked out pretty damn well for us. Who was Scarlets guy? Fox? That guy has gotten to the 2nd round of the playoffs for 5 straight years. Wake us up when PC does that.

That guy has gotten to the 2nd round of the playoffs for 5 straight years. Wake us up when PC does that. His guy was the former coach at Buckeye Central. Threw a fit when he didn't get the job here. Second round of the playoff's five straight year's? That's nice. I could probably coach Calvert to the second round of the D7 playoff's and a TAAC title too. It must be nice to make the playoff's at 6-4 and 5-5 regularly. Try turning around a program that hadn't had a winning season in 23 year's and just one winning season in the last THIRTY year's. While you're at it why don't you get it turned around in year two.

The year for what? No QB, no RB, 1/2 OL, no LB, no above average DB.

Hey Scarlet! Still think your boy should have gotten the PC job? Coach Carmon's worked out pretty damn well for us. Who was Scarlets guy? Fox? Not Fox, the guy that took an 0-10 BC program to the state finals in 4 years. So, clear a spot in PC's trophy case for a state title next year. Back to the real purpose of this thread. Best posts were the 2007 Tribe with me and Dr Torch vs Boston ALCS but I'm biased.

^ ah yes, I remember the time Ateam started that thread in the NOL basketball forum to track the SBC vs. NOL head to head record for the year. I forgot which season it was, but if I remember right it didn't go too well for him as the NOL ran away with it at like a 2-1 margin.

I also remember the 2008 Bellevue vs Clyde game that produced two crazy threads, one each in the NOL and SBC forums. Both threads had a lot of pregame trash talk and then exploded with post game debate over a controversial call, with each one racking up double digit pages and eventually being shut down by the mods.
And then there was the kwibjo guy (or whatever his name was) who always went completely overboard blaming refs or some other excuse for anytime one of his teams lost....like way more into it than what I've seen any other poster do. I can remember one time where in the span of about a month or so where I was arguing against his absurdity in threads where he blamed the refs for a Dolphins loss to the Browns (he was a Dolphins fan), blamed the weather for a Tiffin football loss to Bellevue (he was a TC grad who absolutely hated Bellevue), and blamed the refs for a blowout loss by Duke to Ohio State (he was a huge Duke fan, who would bring up random specific examples from 10+ years before where the refs had supposedly screwed Duke)

The tendency for any Willard/Norwalk threads to have a lot of drama. One incident I particularly remember was the Norwalk guy who would stand on the Willard side at Norwalk @ Willard basketball games, or more recently Willard ending their football losing streak against Norwalk last year

I enjoyed all of the updates about Amanda Cahill's talent and success at Clyde. Two state tournaments (semi-finals) and three regional tournaments (finals) were fun to read and get excited about.

OK, so the name escapes me now, but remember the woman from Virginia who traveled to Shelby to raise hell with the AD and board over the new football coach hire? And she signed on here to do much of the same...just slinging stuff at the guy trying to make stuff stick. I don't even remember the whole story anymore, but she had things stirred up here for a while.

she was insane, and provided some very interesting MOD discussions
i had a lot of fun when i first joined the site with CEO Daniel trying to ban me and block my ISP...but eventually he gave up and made me a MOD lol
boy THAT sure seems like a long time ago, and it was...also for quite awhile after i started posting here there was a large "Who is Dr. Torch?" movement, i was going to start selling T-Shirts
brutal thread battles with xparty and MasterOfPuppets...brutal battles with Pronk/Slash/A-Team when i hit the NFL forums...brutal thread battles with guys i really respect like SIPS/dirkadirka and Screwball...all the pms i would get when i would argue with Syringe from people i didn't know but really hated him lolol!
i think of all the people i torched when i first started posting here and now to think after all these years how many have become internet confidants of mine, strange indeed...can't think of a single one i wouldn't sit down and drink a beer or two with
