Our usual thread to track the progress of Galion native and Ohio State alum J.B. Shuck
He started off 0-9 with a walk in 4 appearances for the White Sox and was optioned to AAA Charlotte in April. Down there he's hitting .245 with 6 RBI's and 1 HR that came against the Clippers in Columbus.

Shuck pitched an inning in a blow out last night. Gave up 1 hit and 1 run. But got Harper to ground out. He threw 90/91 mph.

Hit first HR of season today. Been playing a lot last week or so. Hitting .189 with low ABs so a couple good games he'd be up to respectable numbers. They are giving him plenty of chances.

He has seen more steady playing time and is up to .235. Out of lineup today.

Up to .254 at AS break and has been getting steady ABs.

Had 3 hits in a game to get to .260 and hasn't had a hit since and is hitting .238. Playing everyday lately.

Hitless streak took him from .260 to .233, he broke that streak with a couple hits today and is at .240.

Down to .224, has really struggled since getting to .260. Hopefully for him he will continue to play and get opportunity to get back where he was.

Back in lineup today after about a week off. Average down to .216.

His final numbers for 2016 with the White Sox were:
81 games played, .205 avg, .547 OPS, 14 RBI, 4 HR, 3 SB
This offseason he signed a minor league deal with Minnesota

Shuck played in 123 games for the Twins AAA team in Rochester, NY this year and batted .259 with a .693 OPS, 37 RBI, 4 HR, 4 SB

Seen JB signed on with the Miami Marlins............With all there moves recently he has a good chance with a nice spring to make the roster as a backup in the outfield...He only needs 5 more at bats to reach 1,000 for his career.....

With all the players gone and a lot of injuries, Shuck should make the opening day roster
