Anyone else heading back to the white Sox? I saw Yoan and I believe Michael Kopech is the hard throwing pitcher but no word on the other 2 prospects.

Think the Pirate's Andrew McCutcheon, he's on the trading block and since a deal for Sales fell through just maybe. Napoli will be 37 and wants a 2 year deal for $14M per. Encarnaceon is 33 and wants a multi year for more than $20M per. McCutcheon is 31, should hit .300 with 25 HR. AND is under contract for 2 more years at $14M per and can play every day in the field. The Indians have a 2 year window to win it, primarily due to Miller's contract, but also Brantley, Cody Allen and Tomlin are up in 2 years. Santana and Shaw after next year.
The Pirates will want the Indians best Minor League pitcher and outfielder, should the Indians do it?

we don't need OF, and McCutcheon was awful last year, i wouldn't give them anything for him...we get Brantley back (in theory) and Zimmer will be up by June
i'd love to see us sign Encarnarcion, who has produced in the post season, over Napoli...but i don't know how many years Edwin wants, i don't think i'd go 5 years for him, i'd rather go 2 on Napoli...if we can just get to the post season with our rotation healthy that in and of itself is like signing a couple FAs, we could use a big-time bat but i wouldn't mortgage the future for it
if Detroit deals Kinsler and Cabrera we will be looking at a very diluted AL Central
sidenote: the White Sox are going to have a great tandem with Moncada at 2B and Tim Anderson at SS for the next 12 years

His arm might not even be good enough to make relay throws from short right field.

You and Bryce Harper ha. Nationals in win now mode I guess. Unless they and the industry have soured on Giolito, who in all honesty did not impress me much from what I saw of him in the big leagues.
The really baffling thing about the Eaton trade to me is that they apparently want him to play CF, since Harper is already there in RF. Baseball metrics put Eaton as a below replacement player in CF, but he has had seasons of +5.4 WAR and +6.2 WAR in RF the last two years. Harper's was 1.6 last year altho it was pretty obvious he was playing injured.
I assume Trea Turner moves to full-time SS, which I like.
Maybe the Nationals are gearing up to trade Harper :+) The Yankees have a crazy farm system atm.

Chapman and Yankees basically played the Cubs lol, can't stand the Yankees but they're gearing for a very good team. They have made space. If they don't get Harper this year maybe next. They're expected to go after multiple big names next year FA. It's gonna be big. They're being really smart.

The Yankees need SP. They have good organizational depth at the skill positions. Taking a page out of Theo Epstein's book perhaps.

If Jose Quintana is truly available the Indians would be wise to look into acquiring him. They may not have the talent after the Andrew Miller trade, but it would be worth doing their due dilligence on.

Santana only has 1-year left on his deal. That's right. More than anything the Tribe needs a REAL first baseman under 30 who can hit for power.

More than anything the Tribe needs a REAL first baseman under 30 who can hit for power. been a problem for a long time i'd kick the tires on Justin Turner, 3B, too...then we could move Jose Ramirez to RF and Chis to the bench as a super-utility and a PH...it would help make up for the relative abyss at 1st, especially if Napoli goes i like Bobby Bradley a LOT, but at best he gets a taste in 2018, and he has some work to do...he has a better chance to be a MLB average hitter with considerable power than Joey Gallo does... Bradley Zimmer had a really good season in the Arizona Fall League this year, we need to get him up this year and get him some experience.

I'd hate too move Hosee to the outfield. IMO he has the makings of an All-Star 3rd baseman. Look what he did there in half a season, playing the position everyday for the first time, at age 23.

i won't disagree with any of that, but something needs to be done about RF...3B was as bad as 1B until Ramirez came along, so overall i'm fine with him as our everyday 3B
if Brantley comes back healthy there won't be any need to move anyone to the OF because Zimmer can play RF...he has a cannon for an arm and is a natural center fielder, so he could be a +2 to 3 WAR RF based on his defensive ability alone...if Brantley isn't healthy i'd like to see Guyer get a shot in LF
i have mixed feelings on Napoli's return...he had his best year ever but man he stunk in the playoffs...his absence does leave a glaring hole in our lineup tho, at least for the regular season

The Twins have signed outfielder J.B. Shuck to a minor league deal with an invitation to spring training. Shuck, 29, hit .205/.248/.299 in 241 plate appearances for the White Sox in 2016
