I figured what the heck with this one. After winning 2 games in 2016, here is a rough glimpse in what I'm seeing for the schedule for 2017.
8-25. A. Bucyrus 9-1. H. Cardington 9-8. H. Portsmouth 9-15. A. Pleasant 9-22. H. River Valley 9-29. A. Harding 10-6. H. Clear Fork 10-13. A. North Union 10-20. A. Ontario 10-27. H. Buckeye Valley
The OHSAA has a different site doing the schedules and it has a bunch of gaps so don't quote me on this. It looks as Portsmouth replacing Keystone is only a 1 year thing. It's looking like Upper Sandusky will be the week 3 opponent beginning in 2018. It also appears that Cardington will stay on the schedule in 2018 and 2019.
As far as the team goes, this will be interesting to see how Coach Dick does going from year 1 to year 2. The MOAC should continue to be a solid if not spectacular conference depending on who loses what. My hopes is there is some improvement.
Thoughts.....

It was originally showing Ashland Crestview. I am assuming they cancelled that contract once they got an opportunity to play Upper Sandusky again beginning in 2018. Portsmouth must've been the only ones available.

At least it's a home game and we didn't have to resort to playing the Columbus Crusaders again.

I'm not surprised by this. I thought Galion dropped a lot 2 years ago. They seem to be a fringe school..... My guess is they will continue to switch back and forth.

Arbiterlive is still not showing a complete schedule for this year. It should be noted that they're showing the 2018 and 2019 games against Cardington being cancelled and Carey being in the schedule in their place.

That's curious, I don't really see much difference between playing Cardington or Carey.

Could have a little to do with changing conferences.

Why? It was an ooc game for both schools regardless.

Just knowing that when you have conference changes it can affect more than just a game or two. With Cadington getting a entire new one and Galion dropping and adding a couple it was just a thought. Of course there could be other reasons.

They are both 8 team conferences. The change doesn't have any effect on the fact that both teams will continue to have a 3 game ooc schedule like before.

Maybe one or both leagues will not be at 8 teams in the 18 and 19 football seasons OR maybe it was a contract neither school wanted to continue.

Cardington's conference is essentially the same as what they have been in switching Marion Elgin for Danville. Galion' non conference schedule is likely to stay the same for weeks 1 and 3 for the foreseeable future with Bucyrus in week 1 and Upper Sandusky week 3 beginning in 2018. I also don't understand the significance of Carey over Cardington.

Winnable game against a bigger school means more computer points.

Winnable game against a bigger school means more computer points. You think either game would be winnable by Cardington? New coach this year, some skill players gone and this could be a hard one either way.

Does anybody know who Galion's Qb is going to be this year? Our starter and backup from last year both graduated. Is it the Middletown kid? I think he was the #3 last year but I haven't heard anything yet.

I have no clue who would be the QB this year. The 3rd string QB didn't impress me too much..small guy...But I liked this #45(I think 4th string QB (or something like that) last year, don't know his name, but he was like probably like a freshman last year. He was decently accurate and a good runner. I heard they might switch a senior wide receiver over to play QB possibly.
Man! I watched a 8th grade Upper Sandusky team 2 years ago that was TOUGH. They had a BIG quarterback who could do anything he wanted to on the field...fast and a load to bring down. He was literally AMAZING! No clue who he was, I was there to watch my 7th grade son play for Colonel Crawford and stayed to watch a little bit of the 8th grade team. It was like 21-0 in like the first quarter. Colonel Crawford has a good 7th grade team, but their 8th grade team couldn't even move the ball one yard against this Upper Sandusky team.

, I was there to watch my 7th grade son play for Colonel Crawford ... Do you have a goal to write lunch money checks to every Crawford County school? Crestline, Galion and now Colonel Crawford? is your daughter at Buckeye Central or Bucyrus?

Those schools get no money from me. haha! My ex-wife moved my youngest son (14) Dylan and my daughter (16) Madisyn to Colonel Crawford the same school year I moved Chase to Galion. Not my decision at all. My focus was only on Chase. Those two are AMAZING students...A's and B's. I don't have to worry about them.

I heard a couple of our Senior wide receivers (juniors last year) aren't playing this year for various reasons so I don't know who our QB will be.
Middleton had some OK throws on JV but I don't know if that means much.
Probably be another rough year, but we'll see.

You're not paying child support? That's the only way "those schools get no money" from you. hehe!

It was mentioned on here that Galion Varsity's Freshman WR and DB was transferring to Ontario. Did that happen?

I haven't heard if they WR / DB did transfer. That kid is good. Galion..I'm guessing this year..will be a down year again for them. I don't see how they improve on last year...which actually shouldn't be that hard though looking at our record last year. The biggest reason for Galion's downfall is no defense. They were atrocious last year, which I don't see much improvement this year. I sure hope I'm wrong. I'd love for them to a lot better this year. I want to see what the coach does this year. I'd give him this year to see if he can improve, if not, Galion should look elsewhere for a coach.
