Back up...I got the same maint message on multiple devices. Maybe I was just up too early? I saw it too, also on multiples devices. One of ESPN Fantasy's regular tweets from this morning had a bunch of responses asking why the site was down, so it was indeed widespread. Good thing it's back up now. It wasn't the only mess up ESPN had recently....as this morning I looked at my phone and saw a notification that said: Final: Indians 10 Red Sox 9 WP Kimbrel, LP Allen So at first I was pleased....and then confused....and then clicked on it to see the actual box score...which was frustrating. |

Also, I had question arise from an owner, and I believe it is a situation we encountered once earlier in out dynasty years.
Team A receives:
Active Player
Active Player on DL(not Active DL Keeper, just DL eligle)
Team B Receives:
Active Player
Essentially a basic 2 for 1 deal, with one player being on the DL.
Team B has an open DL slot and would like to receive both players, by using an open DL slot, without having to drop an additional player
For this to happen, would require a commissioner move. The trade would need to go through ESPN as a 1 Active for 1 Active(DL), and then I would have to go in(after Team B moves that player to the DL) and drop the other Active Player and then add him to the new team.
There's actually a few ways to do it, but the main point is allowing Team B to add 2 players(by utilizing DL slot) without having to drop anyone.
I faintly remember this happening early on, but I could be wrong. Personally, I have no problem with that, but I want to put it out there to gauge opinions. All it takes is one person to say 'put it to a vote', but if we don't get that, I'm fine processing the transaction.

It doesn't sound like an attempt to get an unfair advantage or anything like that to me. I'd vote yes on it.

Trade deadline poll is up. Sorry for the delay I voted for the 14th. I feel a shorter deadline isn't as important in a keeper league since every team can still make trades that not only help their team in the present but also for future years. |

Something I know I brought up last year, but I wouldn't be opposed to allowing minors & Draft pick trades through the end of the regular season. The Trade Deadline would only apply to players on Active Squads. Just an idea, but I think it'd be a good wrinkle. |

I personally would vote to have the trade deadline line up with the majors deadline (in a future year). I like the drama of forcing people to decide to be buyers or sellers as they head into the post season earlier than later. I do like the "trades for the future" type idea involving minors and draft picks. Does the MLB allow minors to be traded post deadline?

After the July 31 deadline, any player on a 40-man roster must clear Major League waivers before being traded. That is, the player must be offered to the other teams in reverse order of the standings. If he is claimed by any club, the club that made the waiver request can either withdraw the request and keep the player or let the player go to the claiming team, which would then have the rights to the player and be obligated to that player's current contract. A waiver, which is a permission granted for certain assignments of player contracts, can get complicated if more than one team makes a waiver claim. If more than one club in the same league makes a claim, then the club currently lower in the standings gets the player. If clubs in both leagues claim the player, preference goes to the club in the same league as the club requesting waivers. |
