Fremont city schools gets a huge win tonight! Levy pass means closure of Washington elementary in Lindsay but 4 new grade schools in Fremont, and a new high school and gym.Lindsay kids Im assuming will bus to Otis?or stamm.Long overdue and much needed.Vote was close last year. Good job Fremont.

Good job Fremont. It won't be Stamm as that school is to be torn down and not replaced. Washington, Stamm and Hayes are gone for good. With Stamm to be torn down, the parking next to The Don will be larger. |

Did I read this correctly, a new high school? I'm not too much in the loop to know what the levy proposed? If so, what about the addition of classrooms and swimming pool added to the current high school?

Vote nearly passed last November with 5 grade schools being built in original plan. But the committee revised plans and came back with a great plan I thought. I knew it would pass I voted for it.Washington elementary in Lindsay is closing down and Lindsay kids will be bussed to Fremont..

What's everyones take on Ross in 2017 ? I can see 4-6 .Young Jr qb lehmann is talented a lot of skill.A lot of positions open and 4-6 is fair for a young team.I see 2018 more

Hi everyone, yes I'm Rich McGowan and I have just launched a site covering all things Fremont Ross athletics, the Ross Sports Report, www.RossSportsReport.com. I was a newspaper sports reporter for more than a decade, including a stint at the News-Messenger, winning a far share of awards along the way. I left the newspaper industry about a year ago because the industry as a whole, not just the N-M, was no longer one I cared to be a part of. I believe there is a better way to cover high school sports and that is what I'm trying to do with the RSR. Instead of trying to cover just a little bit of all the schools in a given area, with emphasis on football and basketball, my belief is narrow focus and go deeper. By covering just Ross, I can get all the results of every team and give some context as well. I can cover all the sports in person that, as a newspaper employee, I never could. When you cover 10 or more different schools, covering girls tennis match or swimming meet is a waste of manpower and resources because when the goal is page views, at a newspaper website, the page views generated by those sports is a drop in the bucket. But I believe the RSR is a place where all those drops can become a wave. Since launching on Monday, the RSR has published stories on every fall sport and will continue to do so. If you're reading this forum you clearly care about high school sports and if you're on this thread, you obviously have interest in Fremont Ross. I ask you to please give the Ross Sports Report a chance. The RSR is free for all users through Aug. 28, after which a small subscription fee will be required, either seasonally or for the full year lasting through next August. After 200 yearly subscriptions are obtained I will give FREE access to all Ross students and recent grads now in college. I'm not charging a subscription fee to get rich, but rather doing the RSR the right way requires doing it full-time, not as a part-time hobby, but I have a family. If you've ever bemoaned the state of local sports coverage, this is a chance for something different. I hope you'll support the RSR. Thanks very much, Rich |
