dude they need to get off the "draft the biggest power right arm available" concept, altho i do like Matt Manning it just never seems to pan out with enough consistency
agree on VMart, it would also help if the moved Miggy to fulltime DH, and I'd move Castellanos to 1st...if he ever adopts ANY KIND OF plate discipline he could maximize a really great hit tool

^^^Yes please on the draft philosophy. That's a holdover from the Dombrowski play book. It's possible they moved away from that already. Evidence 3 of the 1st 5 picks in this years draft were bats.
You can also see a minor change with the trade returns...mostly bats.
I would definitely try a combo of casty/miggy at 1st/DH going forward. Not sure how much more plate discipline casty needs. Last I looked, admittedly about a month ago, he was still top 30is in hard hit rate and line drive rate but his BABIP was well below league average. Due for positive regression, heck last month he's slashing 356/363/644.

his hit tool is fantastic but he swings at out of the zone pitches waaaay too often, so it robs him www.fangraphs.com/fantasy/nick-castellanos-the-greek-god-of-hard-contact/from before the season but i was reading an interview with Nick and he basically said he doesn't care, he is up there to swing...thinking he would be better off sitting in a zone than guessing and trying to hit every pitch, so there is some doubt he will ever make the change to just swing at strikes he is young tho so there is hope
