Friday night the Eagles capped off a perfect 37-0 season by winning the NCAA Division II National Championship 93-77 over Virginia Union.
It's the 2nd national title for the Ashland Women's Basketball program, with the first coming in 2013.

That is a fun team to watch and they have a lot of talent coming back. Fast Break, Full Court Press and not afraid to shoot the 3 (they also have great interior passing with their bigs). I saw all 3 Elite Eight games (Ohio Dominican) as well as the MW Regional Final and it seemed like a different guard stepped up every game.

Ashland ladies will take on the UConn Huskies next November in a pre-season matchup. That's the way to prepare them for the season, open their eyes, seeing basketball at it's highest level. They did just that this season, taking on a great Buckeye squad in a pre-season game.
