With so many schools in the league now, I'm going to do something a little different this year when it comes to creating game threads. Instead of making a thread for every single game every single week, I'm only going to be posting a few of them (all of Bellevue's games, plus a handful of other games that I think will generate enough discussion to warrant their own threads.) All the other games and scores can be covered under one of these weekly discussion threads, in which I'll post the full schedule and the SBC standings.
Though of course, anyone can still start a thread about any game, so if you want to start an individual thread for a game I leave out, please do so.
SBC Week 1 Schedule:
Thursday 8/24 Shelby @ Mansfield Madison Willard @ Norwalk
Friday 8/25 Canton Central Catholic @ Bellevue Clyde @ Toledo Start Firelands @ Edison Huron @ Perkins Lakota @ Lake Margaretta @ Mohawk Oberlin @ Vermilion Sandusky @ Port Clinton Tiffin Calvert @ Hopewell-Loudon Tiffin Columbian @ Elida
Saturday 8/26 Sandusky SMCC @ Norwalk St. Paul Cardinal Stritch @ Fremont SJCC

Wow, Bellevue put themselves in a heck of a test early in the season! How is Bellevue looking this year? I know Foos is gone, who is the new QB?

Wow, Bellevue put themselves in a heck of a test early in the season! How is Bellevue looking this year? I know Foos is gone, who is the new QB? Riley Renwand is the new QB for the Redmen. One of the rare times over Nasontis tenor that a senior is a first time starter. Seems like a number of sophomore QBs have started over the years. Will be losing a ton after this season so hope Riley steps in well with other weapons we have.

I was shocked by OH score because I heard the exact opposite... Kidwell was down to 25 guys including freshmen... anyways, looks like they played pretty dang well. Anybody go to buy hat game?

Kind of surprised by both Edison and Oak Harbor last night. Fostoria threw for 404 yards and 5 td's. To say that Oak harbor's secondary is suspect would be an understatement. What catches my eye is Oak Harbor's inability to grind Fostoria down. Fostoria isn't deep and has lots of two way starters. Oak Harbor should have been able to wear them out but they didn't. Edison lost to a quality team. It happens

Edison lost to a quality team. It happens Oak Harbor inability to move the ball on the Redmen defense is surprising, given the fact Oak Harbors OL returned basically intact and was considered the strength of the ball club. Skylar Garcia is amazing however, and has a host of talented, good hands people to catch the ball. It appears their weakness is the lack of a running game....at least against OH. In the 4th quarter, with a comfortable lead, they had to rely on short completion dingers to keep things moving and run the clock.

I find it extremely comical that both Edison and Oak Harbor lost games to inferior opponents.
After all, they could of played Bellevue or another SBC school yet, they play these teams and lose.
Especially Oak Harbor.

Especially Oak Harbor. Firelands isn't a bad team. Actually they will likely make the playoffs. Edison is probably better on paper. Oak Harbor hasn't been any good for a while now.
