Are you ready for some football??? Finally time to start the regular season and the Tigers travel to the Bucyrus High School Athletic Complex to get started. The Tigers defeated Bucyrus 49-7 in week 1 last year and are 13-8 since the Seccaium Park Trophy was created in 1996. Bucyrus' last win in this series was a 10-9 victory in week 3 of the 2008 season. Thoughts on this one....

If we lose this we go 0-10. There's no Fairbanks on the schedule this anymore.

I like Galion by at least 2 touchdowns. I know Galion is down right now but Bucyrus is only in the low 30's for numbers. In addition their talent has unfortunately been down. Galion made it through Shelby without any significant injuries which is key and have looked better than they could have thus far. They gotta win this one. There may not be any more wins out there on the schedule.

Are we really so bad that our hopes for this season ride on this Friday's game?
I think we will win this Friday, but I am not writing the rest of the season off. This group might be able to have good chemistry and improve throughout the season. And, other schools that gave us the beat-down last year also graduated some students.
We will see how it goes, but good luck tigers!

I hope you're right, the MOAC is interestingly balanced at the top and I think a lot of the teams will be really good. Hopefully the Tigers can sneak up on some of them that don't think they will be very good. The scrimmages minus the Shelby one were encouraging. Bottom line is I think Galion will roll on Friday. Looking forward to being over there for the game!

This group might be able to have good chemistry and improve throughout the season. And, other schools that gave us the beat-down last year also graduated some students. We will see how it goes, but good luck tigers! The answer to that question is yes. Bucyrus is the worst opponent on our schedule. Lose that one and there's no hope. I'm certain we'll win that one. Cardington was very senior oriented last season. I'm optimistic about them as well. I don't know much about Portsmouth. But after a 3 hour bus ride I don't see us getting their A game. With the departure of JA the MOAC is going to be interesting. Harding will be a favorite. I can also see CF as a darkhorse as well. Don't let their record last season fool you they had Senior, Ashland, Wooster, Lex, and Shelby to line up against. There was nothing comparable to our conference to any of those teams. I'm certain Ontario will be improved as well. Pleasant, RV, and BV always field capable teams. Fairbanks is gone there will be no cupcakes this year.

I agree that if we would happen to lose, the rest of the season wouldn't look good. But I was detecting an opinion that this Friday is our one and only chance for a win this year. And that after this Friday. we might as well not show up for the rest of the schedule, even with a win tomorrow. Basically saying that we are going to be 1-9 or 0-10 this year and it will be determined tomorrow.
That's was the negative opinion that I was getting at.

Seriously though, if Dick can squeeze more than 4 or more wins out of this team he should be coach of the year.

27-0 Galion ahead at halftime. They are looking sharp so far although it's Bucyrus.

Galion wins this one 34-0. Bucyrus probably picked up nearly as many first downs on penalties as they did offensively. Good to see Galion look sharp overall but too many penalties. A better test will come up next week against Cardington.

Yes in week 3. They needed a 1 year home game on a shorter notice. Galion is picking up Upper beginning next year for week 3.
