I was at the PC/Margaretta game to night and heard a retire 35 year head coach applied for the Margaretta game as long as he gets a job They said he was a HOF coach. I hear that always goes over well...ask SMCC.

"the more than COVID" is what threw me for a loop. Didn't gather that's the case from the link you shared. Am I missing something?

Oh, trust me, it more than just Perkins. Many many schools are experiencing the same. Alot of schools are playing thru the illness with sick kids and short rosters. with crowds back, so is flu season.. with no masking, no social distancing.. the flu is being spread like butter on bread... its more than covid this time.. is that so? Perception data?

Follow the rules, follow the rules! What rules? My understanding is that this league has limited written policies and attempts to impose what they think was the oral agreement. My understanding is that several small schools see the SBC as unorganized compared to their previous affiliations but stay because key sports like it. Please push on the River schools football so they can “organize” their own. Some wish to stay depending on sport but we all know if you mess with football enough - BOOM! Of course there is more disorganization with moving parts and 22 schools than a good ole fashioned 8-team league that's been together for 75 years. Eventually, it may be the 8 or 10 teamer that was mentioned but for some of the Bay schools, it's my understanding they want to try the 5/5 first. Nothing off the Lake schools back. Actually, works pretty well for them from what I've gathered. Filling open weeks with the crossovers is a big deal.

Change and outside the box thinking is really hard for some, especially adults. It even makes some angry.

kick sandusky and tiffin's *** out eliminate the bay and make one happy SBC let the river go on their own. all problems solved. That sounds worse than the old SBC for Huron and Edison.

Lakota is never moving to the Bay. Ever. Willard and a Bay school like Edison or Huron could theoretically switch enrollment sizes but neither Huron nor Edison want to play in River nor would Willard want to switch to Bay so this isn’t really a concern. Rules are rules and it states that each schools enrollment decides where each school will end up. If Hurons enrollment drops below willards then Willard will have to swap spots with Huron. If say Willard and Hurons enrollment got smaller then Lakotas then yes Lakota would have to go to the Bay. Those are the rules. I am sure there is actually a process in place to appeal any moves. Believe it happened with Vermilion a couple years ago so on the surface it appears cut and dry but there is built-in fluidity because this conference has to be flexible to make it work.

Yes sportsvideo. Read the article that came out In the register again. Can change every 2 years. Correct but 23-24 and 24-25 are set. They are meeting next fall to use the new numbers for 25-26 and 26-27.

here is where this can get screwy .. enrollments will change yearly.. but we will review them every two years? so lets say someone from the bay becomes bigger than someone in the lake? do they swap the following two years? and someone in the bay becomes smaller than someone in the river. do they swap for two years? I was looking at the ODE numbers for schools as of right now and if they are accurate then Huron should be Div. 5 in football come next year. Like you said if they become smaller then Willard are they going to send Willard up to the Bay? Or let’s say they both became smaller then Lakota. You really going to send Lakota up to the Bay? I really think that Huron and Edison need to go their own way with Willard and Margaretta and get 4 other schools on board. Let the 8 remaining Bay and Lake schools be a league on their own. That may be accurate but OHSAA uses enrollment from grades 09-11 from fall of 2021 for enrollment for sports during fall 22 through spring 24 (two school years).

Where this game is being played is really the concern in PC Land? C'mon man. Round three of the playoffs. Be thankful you are getting another shot to beat the team that defeated you earlier in the year. A berth in the regional finals is at stake - elite 8! FOCUS!!!

Anyway, venue aside, should be a great game. I've broadcast each of Van Wert's 12 games. How’s VW compared to last year?

If this is true I would not want to be a teacher in this district. The story was kids vandalize employee's homes and the punishment is getting suspended for a few games with the loss of any post season honors. But I do agree, there is a difference between toilet papering and arson. I believe they egged multiple houses as was the word on here and in Tiffin And one coach/teacher’s house was egged by about seven dozen eggs.

Does the suspension carry over into spring football? Because we do know they have practice there? No but maybe winter football at TU. Depends how they accept the first phase of the suspension.

I've been told that at least 3 of the players involved also play basketball, one of whom happens to be the head coach's son.🤷♂️ he isn’t the headcoach anymore. Hasn’t been for a couple years. But yes, him and the other qb. And several receivers If this is upheld, do they pack their bags? Heard basketball numbers are already thin.

Shelby v Perkins might be a quality 1st round match up. TC hung 52 on Perkins. Would be at least 60 from Shelby. The best QB and WR options around. Perkins has talented players. Just not Xs and Os.

Ronburgandy mentioned it on another thread and Jake Furr tweeted it out:
Per a source: The OHSAA will implement a running clock in high school basketball for the 2021-22 regular season. This has been used in tournament games over the last few years and now comes to regular-season games near you. Clock will run at 35-point deficit in second half.
Not. Happening. Happening.

As mentioned the other thread, why wouldn’t Bellevue want to fill their schedules with Lake and Bay teams (plus Shelby)? This can happen with the move to the Bay. It wasn’t going to happen by staying in the Lake. And they are the smallest school. It may change in a few years. Who knows. Some of the Bay schools are getting karma, IMO for not doing crossovers from the beginning.

I find it hard to believe that Bellevue is going along with this. Now that Schubert has retired as AD, does the new AD have have no history in Bellevue? It’s my understanding the new AD is in Bellevue’s athletic hall of fame so I don’t think the no history is a thing.

Bellevue now fills their schedule (basically) with Lake and Bay schools. Sounds like a no brainer, IMO. Wasn’t going to be that way if they stayed in the Lake, I do not believe.
