^^^not true. He used Norwalk to get a raise at SP. He did the same thing with Clyde a few years ago. He's not able to teach in a public school system, doesn't have the proper college credentials.

I've known John for along time now and even though there were things we have disagreed with he is still a friend of mine. John does have proper cred's as a teacher. I don't know if he has a masters degree but he can teach. And I'm not going to swear by this since I'm getting older and losing some of my memoirs but I think that both Norwalk and Clyde came to him to take over as coach but John told them what he wanted and they didn't meet it. Remember that I said that I'm not swearing by that. Maybe someone who has better memory than I have can answer to this, SCOTT come on down and answer this us, PLEASEEEEE.

Coach L has a teaching license for grades 7-12 in visual arts. He could teach in public school with that license. Maybe not the same subjects as he can at a private school but he could teach art. It's public record on the ODE's website.

Your "people" aren't very connected if you haven't heard anything.

I heard a RUMOR that it will be Tod Fox. That would be an excellent hire.

New to this? Just wondering who will get the job? Mahaney or Fox? Mahaney or Fox? That's who Norwalk is down to? LOL...you gotta be kidding. Mahaney is 27-26 at Mapleton coming off another 5-5 season. Fox has had taken his team to the playoffs SEVEN years in a row. How is this even a debate? If they pass on Fox, I will laugh my butt off. Norwalk being Norwalk I guess. Would love to hear the ADs rationale on this one...

does anyone KNOW the timeframe for the hire? I would surely think that it would be done by the middle of January. weight room activities are already going on. This in my mind already is a done deal, with ad just doing his due diligence. The most interesting thing will be who fills out the rest of the staff. a lot of names being tossed around we'll see soon enough.

wallacefan might be right Norwalk may go Norwalk here and go safety vs. hiring the beSt FOOTBALL coach? Another wasted opportunity to hire the right guy? Im hearing they are backing off of fox because of skeletons. he was good enough for a Christian based school but not for good ole Norwalk? Don't get me wrong I hear a lot of good things about mahaney, he's done a good job with little talent, but 7 straight playoff app. that's a pretty good resume.

I'm not sure of the actual facts, but from what I was told it was a hazing incident that occurred during wrestling with some kids. Fox wasn't in the room when it happen. Again, this is what I heard. Someone else may have the facts.

Someone else may have the facts. Hazing happened. Fox was, and someone can correct me if I'm wrong, down the street at the Jr. Hi.(?) still on the TEACHING clock when this happened. I believe that the high school let out for the day (back then) before the other buildings, and Fox just wasn't available to be there for the start of practice.

Board meeting tomorrow night. I wonder if they will act on selecting a coach at this time.
Busy night at Norwalk as they have the "3" board meetings - organizational, records, and regular; and girls' basketball is hosting Bellevue in a game that will determine who is sole first place in the Lake Division - as both Norwalk and Bellevue are undefeated in the Lake division.
