Picabo, Did anybody ask what the hold up was on not hiring a coach. I couldn't make the meeting, I had another important meeting to attend. This is starting to sound like the school board of old, dragging their feet and getting to the concerns of the kids. At least that's how I feel.

Any chance they are waiting to hear if any teachers are retiring or leaving the district so that they would be able to hire their top candidate?

the candidates have all been informed of the decision and the associated district job has to be posted for a few more days.

if the candidates have all been informed, then obviously 1 of them was offered the job and the others were informed that they are not the choice.

do you really not know who it is? read the thread, it's pretty obvious. and chuckle when you read the karma comment from sportsvideo. he's still upset that norwalk ran macfarland, a coach that was not welcomed back on staff during his brief stint in huron. ask coach hohler if we wants to add him to his staff!

Not all jobs that are open get posted on web sites. No need to waste the time when you don't really want the resumes pouring in.

Yep all my sources says it's Fox, the forum says it's Fox, so I guess it's Fox! I guess we will all know for sure tonight or tomorrow!
I wonder who Calvert will get for a coach to fill his shoes.

Willard says no, Norwalk says yes. Let’s see how this plays out over the next few years.
Congrats Mr. Fox, welcome to Norwalk.

Sorry that I am late on this but wife had the computer for along time. Anyway Todd Fox is Norwalk's new football coach. He also will be a new school counselor for grades K-8. One of three counselors at that grade level. He will announce later his coaching staff and he would like to have a meeting with all coaches from High and Jr.Hi. schools along with the Jr. Truckers coaches. He seems to be a coach who knows what he wants and will go get it. Welcome Coach Fox and lets get the crown back to Norwalk and get in the play-offs.

I don’t get the infatuation with Fox. Don’t be fooled by his record or the playoff appearances. He essentially beat who he should have and that’s about all. Two of his seven years came against god awful TAAC teams. He had a little early success against St.Paul, but that came to a halt. The regions he made the playoffs in were pretty easy to make. I think he does a good job of talking, making up little videos for the internet, etc...but is average at best with X’s and O’s, got thrashed by higher-end teams (McComb, Crestview, St.Paul, etc) and gave up a ton of points defensively. Quite frankly, his RB this year bailed him out by literally being able to outrun mediocre competition. To me, I thought he underachieved a bit with what he had to work with. Watch some film.
.
I don’t know, i’d say Norwalk got snookered by the “Sly Fox.”

Name a coach with 4 wins in a row vs St. Paul since Coach Livengood took over in 1992. Todd Fox is it. Not giving a lot of credibility to the last post. Before Fox took over Calvert didn't make the playoffs for 7 or 8 straight years. He was also successful as Willard wrestling coach. I doubt dumb luck and a supposedly soft schedule are the reasons for his success.

I acknowledged the NSP wins. He was also upset immediately following two of those big NSP wins by underdogs.
Out of Fox’s 57 wins, just 18 were against teams .500 or better. His defense gave up 34+ points 24 times. In six playoff game loses he gave up at least 35 points. I’m just saying I believe he’s an average coach at best.

Runaway, Sometimes an average coach can become a good or a great coach if he has the right people under him. There are very good coaches in the Jr. Truckers and in the Jr. Hi., he also has some good assistant coaches on the varsity. I think he will do good here at Norwalk.
