EXACTLY, my point. One no call doesn't change the out come of a game, when there are several other no calls through out the game. Since you were there, did you notice and keep track of all no calls to know which team had the "advantage" in no calls for the game?
How did the home team get screwed on the inbound play at the end of the game?
Which side were you on? My friend who used to be a ref was sitting behind the scorers table and noticed this. After the basket was scored on the "no call", a time out was called by Madison. There was 5.6 seconds on the clock. After the time out was over, Ontario coaches noticed there was 7.0 seconds on the clock and hurriedly called attention to the discrepancy. The officials huddled and asked each other if any of them had made a change. They had not. They told the clock operator to put 5.6 seconds on the clock. He said it was the first time he had ever seen the clock operator add or subtract time from the clock without being told to do so by a ref.
FYI, the several refs that I know ALL say they do not call the game purposely any differently at the end of close games than they do during the rest of the game.
Have you not noticed that there have been several games this year when people have complained that calls WERE made at the end of games that should not have been called? That refs SHOULD "let'em play" at the end of close games and let teams decide the outcome. You did see the Lex/Norwalk game didn't you?

That one no call did change the outcome of the game. it allowed a team to score the winning bucket. No calls that I saw were 12-7 in favor of the visitors. I sat on the visitor side a couple rows up closer to the home bench that the visitor. The timeout was not awarded until the ball had passed the visitor bench. During the t-o a single ref spoke to the clock operator and the time was changed and the spot was given on the baseline. The refs then talked and removed the added time. When it was argued by the home team that the ball was close to half court when the clock was stopped, the refs huddled again. The home team assumed the spot of the ball would be changed. When the refs separated the end result was the action of the ball being passed in and dribbled up the court was erased even though the clock was running while this happened. No time added and the ball back to the baseline.
I didn't have a pick for this game I only went to watch a couple family members of some previous coworkers. Ended up being a fun game. I could not see the Lex/Norwalk game from my seat at Pleasant. Let me guess there was a no call there.

The bigger Madison player flopped too soon or he would have gotten a charging call, IF he was completely set.
It is VERY rare for one ref to change time on the clock and/or the position on the floor where the TO was called. Without first consulting with the other 2 officials. ALSO very unusual not to notify both coaches when a time clock change is made. No official told an Ontario coach, when it went from 5.6 to 7.0.
You actually kept track of what in your opinion were no calls through out the entire game?? Do you do that at all games you attend or were you psychic and knew there would be a no call at the end of this game, so you kept track of all no calls?? Do you keep track of no calls in you head or do you have a piece of paper and pencil you use?? You would be 1 in a million if you actually do this!!
Just the opposite. There WAS a foul called on Lex with 8 seconds left that allowed Harraway to make a foul shot to give them a one point lead. The refs DID NOT let'em play, they made the same call they would have earlier in the game. There were Lex fans that not happy, saying the refs SHOULD call it different at the end games and let'em play.
Lex had 8 seconds after a TO, but couldn't get a good shot. Why would Madison have gotten a better shot if they had 1.4 additional seconds than what they had?
I think we've both seen teams make a half court shot to win. Which I saw done in 1.6 seconds, with one pass from out of bounds from under the basket.

Also the Madison Rams are set to not renew the Tim Mergel contract and offer Joe Jakubick the head boys basketball position. Jakubick graduated from Madison and many (not all) of his SP assistant's the last 5 years are former Madison Alums as well. Now him accepting the Madison position is not guaranteed. but yes he is in fact stepping down as boys basketball coach at St. Pete's.
