The affair in question happened at Ontario. It was allegedly happening at two previous stops. He didn't leave his wife for the other woman at his 2 previous stops.

Perhaps, but Urban doesn't coach at Temple and he is one of the 2 highest profile college football coaches in America. In which case. you can't afford to be that arrogant. He knows that everything that he does or, in this case, doesn't do is going to be scrutinized under a microscope. Whether or not Smith was guilty of assaulting his wife, between the dick pix, sex toys, and affairs with staff members he should have been thrown out on his *** years ago. Fact is Urban F'ed up. In 2015 he withheld information about Smith's prior conduct while on staff at Florida in addition to turning a blind eye towards his other indiscretions. Now he has to pay a penalty. Too bad, move on. Quite frankly, Tressel was fired for less so he and Buckeye nation should count their blessings. I wonder if you fully practice what you preach. I can't imagine you attending every school board meeting and demanding every teacher who has had an affair be fired. OR attended every Galion City Council meeting and requested every police office and city employee who purchased a sex toy be cut from the staff immediately. No need to answer, it was just a thought. I'm pretty sure that you are smarter than this. There is a difference between having an affair with a random person off the street and having an affair with a subordinate/staff member.

Isn't it ironic that Urban Meyer is held to a higher standard of morality and ethics than our current President?

When it is all said and done, this we know. Courtney and Zack were divorced for over two years while he continued coaching at OSU. He made over $400,000 in salary and benes. During this time, she willingly collected a nice chunk of change every month in alimony and child support and kept her mouth shut. Quiet as a church mouse. Suddenly, ex gets canned by Urban. No more, or very reduced child support and alimony now. What's a nice gal like her to do? Run to the scum mongers at eSECpn thats's what. It's all about $$$$ to her, and all about getting to TOSU and Urban Meyer by the haters in the national media and especially at eSECpn. Anyone in a management position anywhere or a coach etc, should be very concerned about the precedent being set in this case. Obviously it wont happen to most people, but how in the world is any employer liable and responsible for the personal lives of battling employees? Unless there is a crime committed (which to this date has not been verified) or the actions directly affect or bring scandal to the business etc., what goes on between two individuals is their business. Now, Urban allowed Zach to do things that no other coach I expect was permitted to get away with (if he knew about these things and ignored them), and for that, Urban was wrong and the suspension was justified. Just my opinion.

Did you know, that by definition an "affair" does not have to include sex? Just sayin' and not that it matters. In this case, I nor 99.9% of speculators have first hand knowledge. Speaking of Presidents, POTUS 42 said, "I did not have sex with that woman". Nor the many others who claimed he had.

Just my opinion. This! Running the OSU football program isn't just being a coach. It is a major operation with high-profile exposure that reflects on the whole university. Urban is essentially a high level executive of a corporation with responsibility of a leading a division of that corporation. And he gets paid very well to do that. He didn't violate the law or the corporate policy, but he showed poor judgement in his employment and supervision of Zach Smith. Urban admitted this very thing. The poor judgement was long-lasting. But most importantly it damaged the reputation and standing of the university. Forget school policies, laws and NCAA rules. Those are just crutches universities use to do what they planned on doing anyway. Pipe-fitters and mailmen get rewarded and disciplined according to policies and contracts. Multi-million dollar executives get rewarded and disciplined based on the value they generate for the corporation, or the liability. Urban is still head coach because he is still an asset to OSU. He was disciplined because he poorly handled a situation in his department and it resulted in a black eye to the university.

If it were truly a "black eye" for the University would not you expect something to happen like enrollment to drop? Something. OSU is going on with business as usual. This was a man's poor judgment or lack of oversight being exposed by a vindictive person. There was no intent to mislead, corruption or illegal activity. At the press conference it was even said the administration knew of some activities and was monitoring police reports in case they needed to take immediate action.

Football players at Alabama who played for Nick Saban that were arrested or charges filed in 2017 and 2018.
Reuben Foster charged with Felony Assault.
Donnie Lee arrested on Domestic Violence charge.
Jonathon Taylor pleaded guilty to Domestic Violence. Afterward he was arrested a second time for Aggregated Assault. He was signed by Saban AFTER being kicked off the U of Georgia team for Aggregated Assault, Domestic Violence and theft charges.
Cyrus Jones arrested on Domestic Violence charge.
Former Heisman winner Trent Richardson picked up on a Domestic Battery charge.
Ryan Anderson arrested for Domestic Violence.
Courtney Upshaw arrested for Domestic Violence and Harassment.
Van Darius Anderson arrested for Third-Degree Assault.
Deiante Thomson arrested for Assault. Cam Robinson and Lawrence "Hootie" James arrested on Drug and Weapons charge. Marlon Humphrey arrested for Felony Third-Degree Robbery.
Major Tennison arrested for Marijuana Possession.
Mac Jones Arrested for DUI and Improper ID. DaShaun Hand arrested for DUI
Lester Cotton arrested for Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphenalia.
Tyler Hayes, Eddie Williams and DJ Pettway arrested on 2 counts of Second Degree Robbery.
Brent Calloway charged with Fraudulent use of a credit card.
Notice ALL of these were ARRESTS or CHARGES FILED. No arrests or charges at Ohio State. Did ESPN, SI and the many sports talking heads ask for Saban's head? Did Saban report all of these to his boss and the Compliance Department? Was a committee formed to investigated Saban, the football program and the AD? Did the Board of Trustees and University President meet to consider punishments?

"Black eye" is an idiom for a "blemish on one's reputation". I think that is pretty accurate. I don't expect any long-term damage. The 3 game suspension was considered too harsh by some and too lenient by others but was effective in its purpose, which was damage control.

Where has Sports Illustrated, eSECpn, Associated Press and all their journalistic goons been on this story? They gave their full effort to demean and convict Urban Meyer in the court of public opinion. A lot of questions need to be asked and investigated on the Alabama football program, but it is obvious, the will and motive is missing. There is no desire to do so.

Obviously, you didn't read the above, NO ARRESTS OR CHARGES AT OHIO STATE. Urban has run a very clean program all his tenure at Ohio State. Weather it be a coach or a player committing the act, DV should always be taken serious. Saban had six different players charged with DV or DA the past two years.
Cross referencing the players arrested the past two seasons under Saban, with the 2018 roster, four players that were in trouble with the law, remain on the team, Lester Cotton, Mac Jones, Major Tennison, Deiante Thompson.

Long list of arrests deleted in this post to save space --------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is a false equivalency, as none of these people that you named were coaches on his staff. I would imagine that if you listed all of the players who ran afoul of the law under Meyer that it would be quite an extensive list as well.YOU are a "false equivalency". AGAIN this is just from the last 2 years at Alabama. AGAIN, Smith has never been ARRESTED or CHARGED, never appeared before a judge, never even handcuffed. It was said at the press conference that the head coach(Urban Meyer) is responsible for the actions of his coaches and PLAYERS. He was suspended for not knowing and/or not always taking strong enough actions in this case. I can guarantee you that if ONE of his players had been ARRESTED or CHARGED with Domestic Violence and the Columbus police called Meyer and he didn't immediately report it to Gene Smith and the Office of Compliance, Urban would be in big trouble. I DARE you to do the research and find anything comparable in 2017 and 2018 at Ohio State. If those ARRESTS for Domestic Violence occurred at Ohio State, Meyer would have been FIRED before this issue with an assistant coach. If you want to talk assistant coaches at Alabama, look up Bo Davis

Should it be noted that the report says that A police chief instead of THE police chief? Do they have more than one? Is there a difference in sharing information with THE University police chief and it being said to the OSU football program? (which is assumed he was referring to when he said he did not know how they learned)
