Will be interesting to see how this plays out, Plymouth is usually a tough out any year. They seem solid again this year.

I'm sure these first 2 games were put in the win column toward a hoped for .500 season by Willardites.

Is Seneca East and Lucas their best chance for a win this year?

Is Seneca East and Lucas their best chance for a win this year? Those 2 have been putting out quality teams, lately. Lucas, on a State Level. If Willard can't compete with their Firelands Conference neighbors, it's not any better with Tigers and Cubs.

Always interested in the Plymouth vs. Willard games being that they are so close. The Big Red may give up a handful of points, but will score two handfuls. Plymouth by 20+.

Both teams missing key personnel this week, but I’ll go with Plymouth. Willard may become a much improved team this year, but it probably won’t be a drastic change in the win column.

Plymouth will win this game. I thought Willard would be able to get a win against SC last week and they weren't really in the game it seems.
I like plymouth in a high scoring game. 42-34

I think plymouth takes this one easily. They are better than South Central. Im guessing a 49-14 final could be worse.

This country likes to blame others for their failures. And for the last many seasons the Willard faithful have blamed the coaches for how bad they have been. Well now you have another new coach this year with same results, is it really still the coaches fault?

I think with it being a new year and coach some were optimistic on here about their team and hyped them up a little bit. I think this shows with little talent and not having a winning mentality it’ll probably be the same results. I was at the Clyde game last night and you can see it in every play how much confidence they play with. I’ll take a team with that any day of the week.

Mentality is huge and you can’t change culture over night. It takes years to turn programs around. Nothing is easy. Some of the football players have been successful in other sports so it’s not like they have no clue on what it takes or are lacking a serious amount of talent. I believe it will come together at some point. It’s just going to take time. They have a good coach and the talent is there to if nothing else hang with a bad firelands team. It just has to come together. Not to sound like a browns fan but next year, if not late this season there will be serious signs of improvement.

The locals hype the basketball teams as well, but they usually come through. If all the basketball players that live up to the hype also play football it would help

Yes sir. The talent is there to at minimum hang with a bad firelands conference team.

Yes sir. The talent is there to at minimum hang with a bad firelands conference team. You consider that “talent”? Talent doesn’t get blown out in two straight games and go 0-11 last year. I’m not sure what you consider “talent”.

I’m not sure what you consider “talent”. Like i said, “it takes years for a program to develop”. So far Willard hasn’t seemed to figure out how to get the most out of their talent in some sports. Football in particular. IMO willard would beat a bad fc team in basketball by 50. For some reason in football it’s a different story. Willard can hang with the best in the fc in basketball and that’s why I believe the talent is there. It just needs developed.

Yes sir. The talent is there to at minimum hang with a bad firelands conference team. Plymouth is far from bad, and has a player on the team better than possibly any from Willard in the last decade. Willards slim chances fade away with ones with solid talent moving away to other schools. Willard continues to suffer from the self inflicted nuclear fallout from roughly 15 years ago to a level even Vogel could not fathom. Also basketball and football are 2 completely different animals. Willard was dominant in hoops all of Haas’s years, only a small handful were we good at football at the same time.
