With only 6% of Senior High school Football players moving on to play in college, Perhaps Centerburgs coaching staff have seen studies that suggest a higher percentage of college attendance for drama students. 😜... IMHO uneducated as it may be, the benefit of scrimmages you see where you stand going against kids that aren't your friends, neighbors or your girlfriends brother... This years team is young and inexperienced, there will be ups and downs but the kids seem to listen to the coaches. Do I expect 10-0 hmmm no , but I don't expect 0-10 either. Hopefully the Trojans will benefit from a supportive home crowd this Friday and get a win against Utica.
Sadly Coach Stoyle like Elvis has left the building

I'll be at Dingtown Friday night to hype the "Battle of 42". Purple the following Friday and then back to Panda ball until the last game of the season. Granddaughter is a junior cheerleader at Dingtown this year and her sister will be in high school next year. Looks like several seasons for a Purple/Red end of season matchup for me.

Congrats to Northmor's 1st year head coach Scott Armrose for upsetting Crestview's 84 man team. Scott is a Northmor alum but has spent the last 18 seasons as an assistant in the Colonel Crawford program, most recently as Offensive Line Coach. Well done.

When I saw the size of WC's linemen in pregame warmups I thought they would run over Cardington's smaller linemen or be worn out early trying to run down smaller faster ball carriers. Guess which it was? No doubt about it, WC either looked past Dingtown or they were overrated in preseason polls.

No refrigerators, was there a couple ice coolers. Also that's what happens when some coaches get older and out of shape, some of them even begin to look like a walk in freezers.

Didn't want to compete? Hick town where they call him boy and the n word. Pretty presumptuous of you. Do you know him personally? Perhaps you've not been near the streets of Marion lately....but I wouldn't blame anyone if they moved out of Harding. That's nothing against the school, at all, but that town is going thru some stuff these days. And if he wanted to transfer to a "Hick" school strictly for athletics, why would he choose the school with the absolute worst football tradition in the new conference. Dumbest post I've ever read on this site. Leave the kid be.

I've followed Pleasant football for 20 plus years. Over that time we have been the opponent many times on "Senior Night" at the schools we were visiting. As the players, band members, cheerleaders and any others come across the field and are introduced along with their parents I tend to keep a mental count of the names of students and their parents or who walks across the field with them. Six years ago, as I recall, we were at Northmor for "Senior Night". Each and every one of the honored students were escorted across the field with their mother and father and all three in each group shared the same last name. Something was being done right at that little old "hick town's" school. This post probably has nothing to do with anything, but O2, it has more merit than your post could ever claim.

Trey Williams, sophomore at Mt. Union, from Cardington, scored on a 75 yard interception return yesterday in Mt. Union's opening day win. Nice to see area kids excel in college. Should we start a thread for area kids achievements? Or is there already one that I overlooked.

That's great maybe I was acting a tad bit childish in saying Johnson would be disrespected there as I've done some asking around and heard of his unfortunate situation I apologize for my comments I was wrong I was at Northmor watching a game and decided to ask a few fans about the kids situation there and was informed about certain things of why he is there ....you say your a pleasant guy right let's touch on how rude and crazy their fans were last year vs Harding ESPECIALLY the staff and parents and the few students that were there in the end zone taunting the Harding players the entire game I have NEVER in my years of watching football seen such hate the refs finally took control for a brief second and ejected a student and staff member but even after that it continued this is not a shot at you or trying to argue with you I just want to know do they do this toward every opponent or just at Harding and what do you think it's going to be like again this year as the game is again at Pleasant

^^^ We'll find out on 22 September. A couple of days before that date I will embark on my 77th year on this earth. Am I really concerned about how other people, that I have no control over or association with, act? Not really, that is on them. As I have done for the past 20 years I'll be on the top row at the 40 yard line with two or three friends that has been there as long as myself at the east end of the field.

Meechie Johnson moved outta Marion to stay out of trouble. Gotta know what you're talking about sir. He has always been athletic. He is a state winner in long jump. His brothers live in Marion still I believe. And why does Harding play @ pleasant again I was wondering. Not that I mind. I like the set up there, second favorite in the moac behind Hardings.

Payton Vanderkooi, Mount Gilead alum, junior, playing at Otterbein scored on a 69 yard TD reception vs Ohio Wesleyan Saturday. He had 4/5 TDs last year and Otterbein is loaded with talent this year, not sure they will be able to give Mount Union a game this year, but we will see!

What's everyone's thoughts going into league play? Centerburg pulled out the win against Utica, struggled against Lucas more than I had anticipated, but turned around and apparently put up some form of fight against Bishop Ready. Cardington got beat by a very legitimate Ontario team, the loss to Galion honestly surprised me or at least by the margin that they did certainly caught me off guard. The big win over Worthington Christian I sort of expected, but apparently some of the "experts" in certain newspapers didn't put much faith in the Pirates Week 1. Regardless Cardington is and has always been a team that's ready to play every week and will not back down no matter who the opponent is. They wouldn't be my favorite to win the KMAC, but I know better then to count Cardington out of the picture. Danville appears strong took care of Ponitz, manhandled their round 1 opponent from last season in Sciotoville, and beat a historically good team in Sugarcreek Garaway. Their game with Highland this week will have to be the one I attend as my thoughts of the KMAC champ being either Danville or Highland he stayed the same even after Non league play. Highland was a few extra points away from beating a solid Bloom-Carroll team, then beat a good Ontario team and also a River Valley team that I assume will be decent. Regardless, they proved that they would compete even had they stayed in the almighty MOAC. East Knox come out of Non league 3-0 and appearing strong albeit, I anticipated them to dominate Strasburg which did not happen. Perhaps, Strasburg is much improved. Mount Gilead seemed to improve offensively in weeks 2 & 3, but defensively something appears to be clearly missing. Don't know much on the details, but by the scores that's what I gather. Without a doubt I assumed that Upper Sandusky and Elgin had improved from last season, but I can't say I was expecting to see them put up 50+ on the Indians. Fredericktown lost to very good Clear Fork and Pleasant teams and then turned around and beat Utica. Heard the Utica game was competitive for a good portion of the game? Maybe the Freddy faithful can correct me on that if I'm wrong. Northmor enters league play 3-0 with an impressive win over Crestview, a Worthington Christian win that could probably be expected, but then a great Lucas showing that I personally did not expect. If I had to make a prediction and I'm sure I'll have my flaws, but I would go 1.) Highland 2.) Danville 3.) Northmor 4.) Cardington 5.) East Knox 6.) Fredericktown 7.) Centerburg 8.) Mount Gilead What do you all think?

You better put Northmor higher on that list. When you drop a D1 athlete into that level of competition it's absolutely unfair.

How much higher? One player alone, even if a D1 athlete is gonna have one hell of a time getting through Danville or Highland.

Could happen. I definitely wouldn't rule it out and I imagine those will be good ball games. The problem I see, is Northmors defense is going to have a tough time hanging with either teams O. If it came down to a shootout I would always put my money on Danville. Highland found a way to put up 30 on Ontario and B-C, and I wouldn't guess that Northmors defense is as good as either of those. They could be and we'll certainly find out, but I just wouldn't guess that. Northmor certainly has a great playmaker on offense, but will that alone be enough to get through Danville or Highland? It could, and I'm not saying it could not, BUT as I said earlier I imagine it will be one hell of a time doing so.
