Tom Herman out at Texas... And Steve Sarkisian is in. Interesting. Thought Texas was slowly building a program under Herman. Another typical case of lacking patience, so the misery is sure to continue, due to lack of continuity and Texas will continue to be fertile territory for Ohio State recruiting.

Justin wished he had that one back. Threw into triple coverage. Up this much, be happy for a field goal.

The Buckeye offense, has the Clemson D on their heals and questioning themselves!
The targeting was an intentional attempt to purposely injure and remove Justin Fields from the game!

Torch, I've rewatched parts of that game about 15 times. I cannot believe how many big 50/50 plays went against us.At least 8 at last count. 2 Dobbins drops which one was gonna be a TD and the other a probable one. 1-Penalty on Punt block attempt 1- Wade targeting call. 1- Wade ejection. 1-Fumble recovery and subsequent TD by Jordan Fuller reversal. 1- Clemson return guy having a punt bounce off him at the 3 yard line and still manage to fall on it. 1-Olave running the correct route to the end zone and subsequent INT ending the game. One goes our way and we probably win. I understood the JF pass was correctly thrown to where Olave was supposed to be, he simply cut the wrong way. Please correct me, if I am wrong. That game was ours, for the taking, but the stars totally aligned for Clemson in the waning moments.

I can honestly say, I don't hate Harbaugh or any other coach, EXCEPT this arrogant jerk....Abba Dabo Doo. Thought Bret Bielema took the cake for most arrogant SOB, but this Swinney guy is Bielema on steroids. I was hoping, never to see Beliema in our conference again.

Wow what a second half for Ohio State. A lot of people complaining about the refs but Rutgers also didn’t shoot nearly as well from 3 as they did in the first half. Musa Jallow did a great job defending Ron Harper in the second half. These two teams play again on January 9, you know they’ll have that game circled. You probably already knew this: Ron Harper is son of the All-Ohio (Dayton Kiser), leading all-time scorer for the Miami Redskins and MAC 'player of the year' and NBA veteran Ron Harper Sr. (Why not Ohio State?) Perhaps the family resides in the greater New York/ Jersey area?

Don Brown is officially, the first sacrificial lamb for the 'Harbaugh Preservation And Restoration Project', better known as HPARP, in Michigan circles.
All of Jimmy's other assistants are nervously, awaiting their fate and shuddering at the thought of turning in their khaki's. The message will become abundantly clear; the spector of failures and broken expectations, was not of his doing. This man's football genius has been subdued by the heavy burden of ineptitude, from those that surround him.
University officials, fully understand, by providing the key components around him, Jimmy will blossom into the legendary figure that surely, lies within and the college football world, will soon, be at his feet!

I think Ohio State will focus on ball control. With the objective of minimizing the time the ball gets in Trevor Lawrence's hands. Pound them between the tackles, setting up the play-action pass. Quick slants to TE's and slot man. Most importantly, avoid the slow developing, deep patterns, till they are preoccupied with stuffing the run and short stuff. Possession game all the way. It's going to be a game of field position, so maintain ball control and no turnovers. That's just crazy. You actually believe Ohio State can run the ball on almost every play and score a TD not only every time after Clemson scores a TD, but more often? Nobody has any delusion of running endless traps and counters. Establishing a running game can be accomplished with a mixed ball movement. What I was eluding to, is getting them to respect our run game, early on, opens up everything else we wish to do with our passing game.

I didn’t mean not run at all, obviously we have to with the way Sermon is running. I mean we can’t just go into full on Tressel ball. Clemson is going to score so we can’t be punting and going too conservative. I agree.......

I actually think the opposite, they gotta just open it up. Clemson’s offense is too good, they’re going to score 30+ So no matter how much ball control we play, if we start punting several times we’re in trouble. If we come out throwing, without establishing the run game, it wouldn't fare well for our offense. If we can prove we can run effectively, it opens up everything else.

Playing 'close to the vest' (did I say vest?), limiting mistakes, good old fashioned, hardnosed football, will open up ample, high percentage, passing opportunities. In this game, Tressel ball might be the winning formula.

We are embarking on a full blown assault on this deadly virus. The vaccine has been administered to medical personell and first responders here in Florida. Nursing home residents are being vaccinated during the 2nd stage of our attack. Florida Governor DeSantis announced a goal of having everyone in Florida vaccinated by sometime in February. very ambitious goals and I hope he proves correct. In order for this to be totally effective, it needs near total participation. I'm guessing there will be a large segment that will elect to opt out, for a million different reasons and excuses. The first that comes to mind are the anti-maskers, will refuse in a most beligerent manner. The president-elect, has already suggested he will impose a national mandate on public mask wearing and don't be surprised if he doesn't take executive action to make vaccination mandatory. It just doesn't matter. Those that get vaccinated can't be infected and thus can't spread it. They have no reason to wear a mask. Those that don't want to be vaccinated and don't wear masks will either get it and die or live and have natural immunity. Their choice. They can only spread it to other non-mask wearers and anti-vaccine people. Those hospitalized will far fewer. ALL business will be open and all schools will return to normal, but if you don't have your vaccination card you will not be permitted to enter any business, school or their events. Your choice. Very well stated and certainly makes sense. Thank you for your explanation and slant on things. The vaccination card issuance never entered my mind. That answers another lingering question that I was thinking about. How do they keep track of those, who are due for their booster shot, three weeks later. Answer is rather simple, get in line, show them your vaccination card, your I.D. and roll your sleeve up.

I have been reading some of the comments about the final 4 and I’m just going to say this..... I’d put the Gators at #4 before any other team, based on how they played Bama. They would have had to pull off the upset vs. Bama. A three loss team will never make the playoffs, especially with a loss to a 3-6 team. The Florida/Bama game, will be a great reference for Bama's playoff opponents.

As expected Ohio state vs Clemson rematch. Also Big Ten announcing they’re reducing their 21 day rule for covid down to 17. While it is a change, it’s still only 4 days and way off from what the CDC says. So dumb. Time for a novel approach to ensuring a covid free team. Isolation chambers. Knock, knock, knock...."your sanitized meal has been placed outside your sanitized door, Mr. Fields". 'The bubble boy', part II.

Will A&M and Oklahoma be paired in a major bowl game?

Our Covid depleted OL, answered a lot of questions for the coaching staff vs. MSU. They know the backups can be plugged in and play at a high level, giving a starter a breather. I like the prospect of a pound, pound offense, with a quick, play-action passing to Wilson, Olave and others. I agree wih Rambo, quite timely for the emergence of our newly elite status of Trey Sermon. OL and Trey Sermon are brimming with confidence and lusting for the next opportunity.

I think with a mere 6 games under their belt, the coaches are still learning what this teams capabilities are and the offense has almost, but not quite found it's identity. The powerful rushing attack, goes a long way in answering who they are and what they can become in the playoffs. The Buckeyes came out 2nd half and made a statement. The offensive line made a statement and Trey Sermon made a strong statement. Going forward, these guys are going to pride themselves on playing a tough, physical, brand of football between the tackles. Which will open up the play-action passing game. Kudos to the defense for creating zeros on the opponents side of the 2nd half ledger. I see a lot of positives going forward, while some on here, seem content on dwelling on a most, unremarkable 1st half.

Whatever happened to the short passing game, with the quick slants, that moved the ball down the field? Want to see more of a run/pass mix, featuring the short passing game, incorporating the TE's. With what we witnessed 2nd half, we can be a run first, to set-up the pass offense, once again.
For whatever reason, this offense has become unimaginative. The slow developing pass plays, put too much pressure on Justin. He's no longer a Heisman consideration for a reason....our passing game has become less effective and needs to be restored.
I think one huge building block, going forward, is the strong establishment of the running game. This offense and especially, the offensive line, should be hanging their hat on making holes and moving people for Trey Sermon. This translates into the all important element of 'time of possession', that can become a huge, deciding factor against the Alabama's and Clemson's. Keeping the ball out their hands, eating up yardage and the clock, is a huge advantage.

The Ohio State offensive line and Trey Sermon's dominating performance 2nd half, secured the win and a playoff spot. The Buckeyes were underwhelming the 1st half, much like ND the entire game.
1. Bama 2. Clemson 3. Ohio State 4. ND
5. A&M 6. Cincinnati

We’ve got some really good tight ends, maybe we’ll see some more plays to them. Ruckert is basically a 6’5 WR. Our WR room is so deep I’m not concerned for this game. We do need Olave for the playoffs though. No question Why Olave has gotten the most touches to date. Like a vacuum, he catches virtually everything thrown his way and Justin is locked in on Olave's routes. Ruckert has really good hands as well and with Haussman, Farrell and Royer all big, imposing targets, expect the TE's to play a larger roll than usual.

With Chris Olave and Jaxon Smith Njigba reportedly out for this game, who gets the most touches? I'm guessing Justin's targets will be many, with Julian Fleming and Gee Scott Jr. as prime targets, others will get their time, Jaylen Harris, Ellijah Gardiner and expect the unveiling of Jameson Williams with some deep shots. Who, among this group of talented receivers, is going to have that break-out game?
Much like the OL backups stepping up big-time vs. MSU, now it's the receivers turn to shine. With a 5 game Season, not much opportunity to get on-field development for the youngsters, but today they are gonna be given their opportunities much earlier than expected and on the biggest stage.

This is not meant as criticism, because Chris Holtman has recruited very well. We essentially have a team comprised of 6-5 to 6-7 players, guards and small forwards, but very lacking in the big, physical bangers that can post up and muscle off the low post. Some guys in the realm of Jared Sullinger. As I see it, the inside-outside game lacks balance. You look around the league and I see a decided disadvantage from that aspect of the game.
Last night, Purdue aptly maintained a half court game. When Ohio State got off in their transition game, it was amazing. There is a lot of speed and athleticism on this team, that can push it up the court very quickly. No one wishes to get into a running game with the Buckeyes.

Indian Motorcycle, owned by Polaris Corporation, will have to change it's long, historic namesake. Oh, and let's not forget Indian Lake in Ohio and the hundreds of lakes across America, named after Indian Tribes. The PC police are gaining momentum and feeling the power. Also 10s of thousands of cities and counties in the country that are named after Indian tribes. In this area alone to name just a few. Delaware, Mohawk, Seneca and Ontario. Never even thought of that. There will never be a point of appeasement for these people.
