Two Fridays in a row and East Knox uses the same formula to win. EK's defense in the second half played a big role in their win. A couple of picks halted Carey and they bent but did not break. Next up, New Middletown Springfield at a site to be announced Sunday.

Too much speed for Pleasant to handle. I have no idea how many arm tackles Orrville runners ran through. Pleasant just failed to wrap up. With Shelby's loss, all MOAC teams are out of further contention.

East Knox 21 and Seneca East 20. East led 20-0 at one point. They also lost four fumbles. Three of those came in the first half. East Knox will play Carey next. Carey won 7-0 tonight. With those two playing, it may be back at Harding next Friday night.

A rather disappointing win. Play calling was very questionable. Very difficult to continue to run against 8 in the box. Oh well, on to week 12. Arlin would be about half way between Pleasant and Orrville, but OHSAA will probably want to use that for a higher division match-up if needed.

East Knox wins and Northmor loses. KMAC has one team left in play-offs.

Was very disappointed in Northmor. They seemed to think they could coast home in the 4th quarter with a 21-10 lead and took their foot off the gas. Bad decision.

Lex defeated RV and Ontario and lost to Shelby and CF this year. Does a vote to accept a school or to expel a school have to be unanimous?

blazer, What would be interesting would be a break down of those 80 teams and what divisions they are in now. Some off the top of my head are Ridgedale now D7, Bedford Chanel closed, Liberty Center D6 and Delphos St.John's D7.

As pirate80 noted elsewhere, Friday night was the 75th meeting on the gridiron between two close neighbors Cardington and Mt. Gilead. After the game was over the series stood tied at 37 wins for each side with one tie. Five years ago a traveling trophy was created and designated as the reward for winning the "Battle of 42". It's not elaborate, just a heavy weight plywood in the shape of the state of Ohio about 18 inches high as well as 18 wide. Half is purple and half is red with an Indian Chief sticker on the purple half and a Pirates sticker on the red half. The score of each years game is entered on the reverse side. After four years in the hands of "Red", after the game, it was handed over to "Purple". To go along with the trophy, there is a plaque given to the MVP of the game for each team. Those players are chosen by the opposing team and coaches, "Red" picks "Purple" MVP and vice versa.
Some will think I'm going to damage my shoulder patting myself on the back now, but so be it.
Years ago when my grandsons played football at Cardington, in the days of the "old" MOAC, I would give 25 or 30 pounds of ground pork to the booster club at Cardington to feed the team the Thursday before the Pleasant game. Those were good times, everybody was in red and black and you didn't know who was for who until the first score. After the Morrow county teams broke from the MOAC and formed the KMAC with four teams from Knox county the Cardington and Pleasant games came to an end. In addition to helping with the team meal for Cardington I would also take 10 cases of water to the practice field on the first day of 2-a-days. After my grandsons graduated I just continued to bring the water and the ground pork. With the change in leagues I contacted the AD and coach at Mt. Gilead and Cardington. I explained that after my alma mater, Edison, was absorbed into Mt. Gilead my two sisters graduated from Mt. Gilead, two grandsons graduated from Cardington and two granddaughters were in school at Cardington so I had ties to both schools. I proposed feeding both teams together after the game. They thought that was a good idea and so it began. My wife thought we should make some contribution to the schools, I said to the MVPs. I won. Then came the chit-chats with OHSAA and the NCAA about eligibility. To avoid any problems with that I make the $500 check out to the school the MVP will be attending and it is called a scholarship.
Now, if you're still with me, the reason for this thread. I would like for people to bring up to date the happenings with the players that were named MVPs. Most, I'm sure, are aware of the 2015 winner from Cardington, Trey Williams and the career he has had at Mt. Union.
2015 Red Trey Williams Purple Deondte Cook
2016 Red Luke McCarrell Purple Jonah Barnett
2017 Red Dan Kill Purple Hunter Trimmer
2018 Red Trey Brininger (10th grade when selected Purple Mason Mollohan
2019 Red Nate Hickman (10th grade) Purple Brady Mermann
Thanks for your input

Pirates showed great fight tonight. On to rivalry week! You were a week too early. They showed "great fight" tonight also. I missed it. I had just left, after Purple scored to go up 26 to 19, to get to the school where the teams were going to be fed and the MVPs of "The Battle of 42" were to be recognized. Had to feed the boys in separate rooms, but got the two MVPs together for their reward. After I had given the plaques to the two players I offered them my reflection of their post game activities. I gave them the advice my mother once gave me at the age of 17 or so..."Son I know you have all the brains in the world because you have never used any of them".

Galion can't be stopped they are driving at will and Galion will be the 2019 Division IV championship, I am calling it now Since a Div 5 team beat the Div 4 champs to be then I guess we may as well crown Pleasant the Div 5 champs after tonight.

River Valley needs a lot of help to make the play-offs. Then they would face Norwalk or Mansfield.

according to max preps pleasant have roster of 23 and according to digital scout their roster is 52. You say you watched the game on TV. That means you didn't count the players during warm-up, didn't take note of how many may have been out with various maladies and did not have a program to check how many freshmen and sophomores were on the roster. MaxPreps can hardly be relied on as a reliable source for roster numbers. But continue to rag on a Div 5 team beating a Div 4 team and claim they were running up the score. Get back with us and let us know how you do in week eleven.

haha, not hardly. What does Galion have going for them? When’s the last conference title that they had in football or basketball, the two major sports? Galion tried to be relevant this year and failed. In fairness, Galion had made the Playoffs 5x in the last 10 years, so it's not like they're totally irrelevant. Well. Harding made the play-offs 5 times in a 10 year stretch. It was only 15 years ago.
