Trench90..I swear I need to go get you a hanky. Putting down a father who loves talking about his son on the internet who you've never met....you, my friend, are a class act. Willard..you are a crazy old Uncle who sits in the recliner and brags all day with a beer in his hand. He keeps bitchin' that you aren't paying attention to what he is saying. You just wish he would shut up and just watch the game. I don't have an Uncle like that, but I can imagine you'd be that person. You ever look in the mirror?

Back in the afore mentioned D5 runner-up year in 2001, Pleasant set the points scored in a season record, since topped, and could have probably added a bundle more in one particular game. Kubbs didn't allow Jefferies to throw a pass the whole game and pulled him after one series in the second half. People were always saying how Kubbs "ran up" the score. Had the mercy rule been in place that year, Pleasant would have had a running clock in nearly every game.

What goes around comes around. Think about that when some of those "bad" teams last year put 50 or 60 on you this year.

"With about 4 games left in the season, Coach Hawkins finally allowed my son to throw more downfield, and we started to have blow-out games." GT, the fact that those 4 teams, River Valley, Fairbanks, North Union and Pleasant had a combined record of 14 and 26 could have had something to do with Galion's success.

You can't argue with success, 2001 D5 state runner-up and 2002 D5 champion, but if Pleasant was ever to run the spread those two years stand out in my mind. Scott Jefferies in 2001 and Trevor Harris in 2002. Most people know what Trevor did the rest of his high school career and college. When you have Jake Bennett running behind Trevor you can see why Kubbs ran the offense he dd. Looking forward to this year. Just wish Pleasant had more beef on the line.

Correction they play a Cinnci team but it is not the same team. No they do not repeat either of those games they were only a 1 year contract. Right, mind in neutral when mouth put in gear. At my age that happens.

Ballinger still the AD over at Pleasant? He is at Harding in an admin position. Pleasant plays the team from Cincinnati this year in the first game of the season.

^^^^so often the "fans"/admin don't want to give a coach time to develop such a timeline. It has to be "yesterday" or off you go.

Hearing some rumors of unrest among Pleasant fans in regards to what they deem "under-performance" from Coach Cook's teams. Anyone else hear anything about this? Haven't heard anything like that, but I do have a couple of complaints about the facility. Even though I can not prove it, I am certain that Pleasant has moved the parking area at least 100 feet further from the stadium each year for the past ten years and that they have also added at least 10 rows of steps each year up to where several of us sit together. I don't want any of you out there in MOAC land to even suggest that I am just getting older and tired.

As I recall wasn't that game played on ice skates? Up at Lima wasn't it? galiontiger You are so right about line size. It matters not if you can't block. I remember Pleasant going up against Liberty Center in the playoffs in 1997 or 98 and their line was a bunch of 185 pound kids but all they needed to do was turn their defender and hold the block for a couple of seconds. They were so well drilled at it that I walked away extremely impressed. They turned much bigger guys and gave their running backs enough of a crease to just pound forward for positive yards on almost every play.
