Galion and CF are both MUCH improved since early in the year. Credit where credit is due. They just lack knowing how to win, it's been so long I have been extremely critical of Galion’s basketball program, but I’ll give credit where it’s due. The boys played their hearts out last night and left it all out there. They didn’t win, but that’s life. I have to respect the kids and coaches for that. Galion made 17 triples. Unheard of. Kent and Chafin are the best duo in the league scoring the basketball. They play a fast paced game, but no defense.

I see Logan Houle was found guilty of aggravated burglary and other charges in Marion. I recognized the name, didn't he play for Ontario at one point? Went to like Oak Hill for the B team, but he was always troubled.

Ontario has a tough road going into the tournament. Harding is an odd team to figure out at times. Harding has lkkked like a team that hasn't played together a bunch at times this year, which they haven't. I think the future is pretty bright. I continue to believe the MOAC is going to be pretty darn good next year.

So basically not much different in the future for the MOAC Some would predict differently about the changes in the future of the MOAC. The Harding leadership has made a difference there. Galion is now attracting transfers so we will have to wait and see who shows up in the portal. Harding plays 4 or 5 transfers.

Galion gas a 6-7 JV post that I think will be quite good on varsity next year Really raw, not too athletic, can't get off the ground much for being skinny. I do think he's there defensively, I've seen him play twice this year. A pretty good shot blocker and rebounder due to size.

Doing some thinking, the MOAC should be pretty good next year. Shelby, RV, and Harding will once again battle it out. Harding returns nearly everything, while Shelby and RV return a bunch, including their top players.
I could see Pleasant taking a step forward.
Galion will return their two best players, while Hart will be their only impactful loss.
Ontario will be better.

Chafin scored 24 of his 35 points in the fourth to give Galion a shot. Nearly an unthinkable comeback. Galion lucked out with that transfer for sure. Solid player. Did he move from Mt Gilead or just open enroll? Not sure to be honest.

I think Harding is the best team in the league after seeing all teams, but they got off to an iffy start at points with injuries. They should be good next year as well as they'll return about everything. The coaches son is a freshman, he'd play serious minutes for most teams in the league. Does for Harding here and there in the 5 games I've seen.
I think Shelby beats RV Harding beats RV
Then we'll see Shelby taking the league.

Delete if already a thread, I didn't see it. Marion Harding named their next coach, Charles Williamson.
Coach Williamson was most recently the head coach at Washington High School in Washington Court House, Ohio, where he was head coach for seven years. At Washington, Coach Williamson had a 42-27 record, including playoff appearances the past three seasons. The Blue Lions were 9-3 in 2022, and advanced to the second round of the OHSAA playoffs.
Coach Williamson also coached at Central Crossing High School in Grove City, and Westland High School in Galloway.

Marion Harding 64 Shelby 48 Harding now one game behind Shelby and River Valley. Harding team has potential when they put it all together. Just surprised by the wide margin.

Harding should have won by 20+. Every time it looked like it was going to go way lopsided, Kent would hit some tough shots for Galion. He had a timely 18, but fouled out with 3 minutes to go I think it was, maybe a little more.

Hardings PG was out. They had 3 guys off the bench score double digits. Galion's Kent had 18 or 19. Long had 21 for Marion

Watched the Harding Galion game and I don't think it was as close at the scoreboard says. Galion is improved, Kent and Chafin are a nice duo. Harding threatened to blow it open a couple times and couldn't hit free throws, or Galion would hit a couple shots. I think the Tigers are very improved. Many years before this game would have got out of hand. They seem to fight.

Long is a good player. Freshman off the bench had 16. Seems like a player. Transfer from olentangy can really shoot it. Thomas worth. Transfer seems to be a good facilitator. Am RV transfer is long and athletic. Early takeaways

Harding is a head scratcher They have a good back in Reynolds, and a solid playmakers in Keith and Marquis Long. All 3 have been injured/played injured much of season. They are very, very bad. Pleasant may beat them too.

Prior to the season, many expected Harding to compete for MOAC, top 3 at least. Harding is terrible right now and the coaching stuff is even worse. They have a bunch coming up, so have to hope it starts there. Not by those who give credence to track record. Gotta prove it on the field before considered a contender. This year again is what's been seen in the past. Harding has always "had a bunch coming up". I agree. I think it’s a testament to the top. Last year was pretty good, but they lost a ton and didn’t return a good senior class I believe. They had some athletes 2018-2021, again this year. But they have to put it together and have yet to do that.

I will say the Galion offense has come a long ways. Their sophomore QB is an athlete and he’s come a long way, getting smarter. I’ve watched 4 livestreams (I normally set 2/3 games up at home on fridays, rather than going to one). I agree gtab. That McComb team was real good. They also showed how good Marion Local is the following game.

What a win by the Tigers. The last two weeks really shows that this team will win State. The Tigers beat two excellent teams that will prepare this team for the playoffs. No other team in the region will face a team like this the offense is a well oil machine and the defense is stifling. I will keep on saying that this team will be playing in December so got dang annoying … Galion is a very average team that will be 1 and done in the playoffs. Next year they will be better, I might would pick them to win the league next season

At the beginning of the season, my circle of Shelby fandom had reasoned that going 6-4 or 5-5 was very likely for this Whippets team. We figured it would be losses to Bellevue, MH, RV, CF, and a bonus team or two. Getting an extremely cozy front half schedule and a moderate loss to Bellevue radicalized me. Woof. MH loss? Prior to the season, many expected Harding to compete for MOAC, top 3 at least. Harding is terrible right now and the coaching stuff is even worse. They have a bunch coming up, so have to hope it starts there.

Ooof is MH going to win a game this year? It's definitely brought into question. That close MV game they had looks much more suspect after what Lex did to them. Highland and Ontario aren't world beaters but they haven't been embarrassed by anyone. Pleasant? Pleasant has their number still. I would be surprised if MH won a game.

Harding score a bit misleading. Clearly the better team on the field. But lost their running back in crunch time, couple other players. I think they’ll be okay. I expect them to finish 2nd to 4th in the MOAC. Somewhere in there. They’re very young.
Galion game I caught online late last night. Tigers are still young. Need to figure out QB play, they lack a true running back, which may hurt.
Clear fork win is a good one for them.
