Mr. francona has had enough of the complacency and half-hearted play of this bunch of y(w)ahoos. think if things don't improve by end of month, a few heads (or arms) may roll.

Agree that this is a great hire for Ohio State. He knows Ohio, having raided Buckeye high schools for talent during his tenure at Butler. He's fiery, dynamic and remember Butler has had great success under him. Probably not be a banner year for the Bucks next season, but think things are looking up!

For the OHSAA it's all about $$$$ in any manner, shape or form. How it is obtained is irrelevant. Screw the fans.

Thought the quality of the games last night at Mansfield Senior was a good reflection on the quality of the season overall in D2 in this area. While both games were entertaining, IMO it was not necessarily great or even good high school basketball for this level and at this stage of the season. Many have said on this forum that they felt high school boys basketball, especially at the D2 level in this area, was "down" this year and I agree, just sayin.

Why wouldn't they play to win?!?! Shelby has a nice team. Kinda sounds like a excuse for getting beat. Get the bad one out now sense it means nothing and play hard from here on out. Keith Williams did not play who is the best all around player in the NOL. If he plays, I am sure the outcome is different but congrats to Shelby Thought the other williams was distrcit POY? So Keith Williams who averages 12 ppg is better? If keith williams plays and gers his average, streaks still lose by 3. Streaks beat shelby by 7 at home and by one in the tournament last year so shelby has pla6yed them tough IMO.

Think the warriors are the team the top two or three seeds would least like to play. Just my opinion. Probably should have said most dangerous if I'm a top seed.

Think ontario is the one team that could take out either lex or sandusky. They are the sleeper imo.

Well played, intense game both sides. Perkins missed many inside shots. Defense was tough both ways. Good hs bb game.

Somewhat surprised when shelby had 3 pt lead with less than a minute left they didn't use their two remaining fouls to try and break ontarios rhythm for the game tier.

Exciting, intense game ontario vs shelby. Don't think either squad played their best but that happens when good defense dominates.

Hate to see that happen....but, after redshirting a year and basically filling in, he has a lot of eligibility left.....Nebraska sure seems like a possibility with his dad and two brothers playing there.....

Go to mansfield news journal site can'tieve has a link to game winning shot bad ref, is it me or does the girl travel before shooting it? both her feet move as she catches, then they both move as she turns to shoot. Good point. I was at game and didnt think she did....but...tough to tell on the link.....caught the ball, turned and threw it up...... can't say she did or didn't.....bang bang play with .08 on the clock so was a legal shot time wise at least.....I probably would not have called a travel

Great game by both teams. Santoro is the real deal and only a freshman I think. Rematch should be just as entertaining. Goth made a great shot....did same thing vs Ontario I think last season.

The writing is on the wall. Urban is done with OSU and everyone knows it. I think he's gone in 2 years. Seriously? Really? LOL. That's the funniest post I've seen in awhile.

Isn't it nice to see the tribe spending some $$$ ti sign EE and keep their arbitration eligible players in the wig wam? What a difference a world series makes, along with some help from a minority owner too.

Think MAtta will get another year....remember Diop out, Funderburke redshirted....hopefully he'll recruit some muscle....if it is this bad next year though, afraid he is gone.....commentators last night I felt sensed Matta is on the hot seat and tried to turn the rising tide against the coach by citing his record etc. etc.......

Just watched Urbans post game news conference again. That was one Po'd fb coach, IMO. Listen to what he said about passing game especially interesting. With about a month to prepare, question begs to be asked......was it the offensive game plan, play calling or just execution? JT says he will be back but Hooker is as good as gone IMO. Offense scored, I think, only 34 total points in regulation in last three games (not counting ot). Will be an extremely interesting off season. Clemson was and is very good...think they will beat bam if they dan slow down the horse Scarboro?

Hope Clemson did not shoot their wad vs OSU. All of bucks question marks were brutally exposed .....offensive line, no power rb, lack of adequate downfield passing game and poor fg kicking. Lots of opportunities for people to step up on the offensive side. Also, at times, have to question play calling . Confident Urban will take care of it. Michigan fans are gloating but at least we were there.

scUM lost three of their last four games. Failed tovwin B10 championship. Failed to make playoffs. Failed tovwin Orange Bowl against FSU. Another 10 3 season for Hairball. With the huge number of returning starters this was supposed to be Hairball's and scUM's year. I know refs gave it to OSU and injuries doomed them vs FSU. Like Peppers, scUM and Hairball overhyped overrated and underachieved. Excuses aplenty. They needed more class acts like Jake Butt. Hope the squelers draft Peppers. Compare that to OSU which has overachieved this year. Ann Arbor will soon tire of this act.

Just enjoyed watching a replay of OSU scUM game. Two things stand out: 1st OSU defense was generally outstanding and 2nd Hairball is the biggest crybaby and immature loser coach in college fb.

Merry Christmas to all NCoast posters, users and watchers. Don't let the hectic pace of this weekend cloud and ruin the real reason for the season. May the Christ child's birth signify a new birth and redemption for all. Enjoy your time with your loved ones as they may not be here next year at this time! Happy New Year and btw GO BUCKS!

The Twins have signed outfielder J.B. Shuck to a minor league deal with an invitation to spring training. Shuck, 29, hit .205/.248/.299 in 241 plate appearances for the White Sox in 2016

Diop coming back full strength will help a lot. Yes, believe they are better than last season at this time, especially in FG% and 3-point shooting (overall, forgetting the last 2 games.) But, there are some glaring, IMO, weaknesses and trouble spots -- like rebounding and turnovers. Remember, the Bucks have played the usual bunch of patsies (with a couple notable exceptions) in the non=-league season, and are barely holding their own in those two categories against noticeably weaker opposition. What happens when the rough and tumble B1G starts? I fear even a healthy Bates=Diop is not going to help dramatically in those areas and that spells Trouble with a capital T.
