Watching this team now is a pleasure, win or lose. What a difference a month makes -- as WF pointed out, addition by subtraction. At least now the Bucks have someth9ng to build on, especially with the new guys waiting in the wings too. Could be a real good season next year.

IMO, Shelby lost the game at 3 key points. End of half, held ball for last shot for nearly minute, turned ball over and Lex scored. End of 3rd, held ball for last 25 of 30 seconds, turned ball over and Lex scored. End of OT, held ball for 20 of last 25 seconds (at least got a shot off), Lex rebounded and ran length of floor to score. The turnovers at half and end of 3rd quarter were huge and killer, IMO. Those two plays were potential total of 4 to 8 point play turnarounds. Lex better coached, better disciplined team. Remember Lex was playing short-handed also the entire game. Think Lex will give the Streaks huge problems with their discipline and length. Congrats to both teams on a fun game

Sorry, but AHS is way too small a venue for this district tourney IMO

Col Crawford game much closer than final score indicates. Basically 2 possession game or less until final 2-3 minutes when st Paul fouled. Cc only 4 fouls entire game, only one in 1st half. St Paul couldn't handle cc bigs inside.

From a Q and A on a national HS and college referee site:
"As many may remember, not too long ago, the penalty for leaving the court voluntarily was a very harsh technical foul, but that has since changed to a kinder, more palatable sentence and is only ruled a violation. Once the whistle is sounded, the ball becomes dead and the usual procedure for a violation is followed, resuming play with the ball being awarded to the opponents of the violating team for a throw-in nearest the spot of the violation (NFHS 7-5-2; NCAAM 7-3.2; NCAAW 7-4.1).
What if the player is bumped out, or better yet, what if the player is running so hard to save a ball from going out of bounds that his or her momentum carries the player off the court? And what if after coming back in and establishing inbound status, that player is the first to touch the ball again? When we reference the rulebooks at all levels, there is no direct wording prohibiting an accidental or unintentional exit of the playing court, therefore suggesting any action causing a player to “go out” involuntarily would be legal.
Many officials do not like to go on “assumptions” and find it hard to accept a one-size-fits-all ruling on plays that do not have explicit language telling them such. Luckily, those officials do have that luxury in this “unwritten” rule. The casebook in each of the three respective rules codes has a scenario that explains this exact type of play."
Ive been out of the "business" for more than a few years and it was a technical at that time. Now, given this wording, it does not appear so, but still doesn't really answer the question of running, voluntarily, out of bounds for several seconds and then re-entering and touching the ball. I no longer have my rulebooks so no help there.

Senior Hi is too inconsistent offensively, IMO, so I see the Streaks winning this one. Lexington has struggled without the two suspended players, but with them reportedly being back on Thursday night, I think Lex's height and dominance inside will be too much for Shelby to handle. Gonna be two great matchups though.

Correct. Because of too few officials guys who in the past would never have gotten tourney games are now getting g them. And no one can guess what will be "big" games when assignments are doled out.

the issue was, IMO, did the player have an opportunity or chance to come back on the floor prior to running behind scorers table etc.? If he did and failed to do so, then a T could have been called. Frankly, watching in replay and live action, I doubt that the officials had any clue what actually happened in that situation. They were more interested in whether or not the other official was hurt or could continue. Was not impressed with that crew in any way, shape or form,

Lex dominated 2nd half. Shelby no idea on the Fogel kid who is by far real deal as a freshman, 21 points I think. Lex dominated boards and inside game. 4 players double figures for Lex. If it's true that players sat ou t, hate to see what final would have been. Lex clearly best bet in district.

I don’t even know what to say right now. This is just hard to watch and stay positive. It’d be really interesting to see what it’d be like if they had held on and beat Purdue. I’ve been saying they give Holtmann another year but if this season just completely falls apart, I’m not so sure of that anymore. Pre-game interview Gene Smith, the grim reaper, gave Holtmann a "vote of confidence." Kiss of death IMO

That's the key. One good year in a sport does not translate into competitive seasons in ALL sports every year. That's why neither Shelby nor Ontario and even CF will join the occ or a big school richland County league in the near future. I was told Shelby was looking at the OCC because of the good competition for when they were good and when they were down. One Shelby coach told me they think they can compete in the MOAC even when they have dips in talent. Their choice of the OCC was not to win league titles but to play better teams. Think that was probably during the SBC era for Shelby. Pretty sure if you'd check with most Shelby coaches now they are very happy where they're at. Same with student athletes. Why? Very competitive in the MOAC and still play bigger neighboring schools outside the league.

What about Shelby's "pipeline"? Could Shelby have won the OCC title in football this year? That's the key. One good year in a sport does not translate into competitive seasons in ALL sports every year. That's why neither Shelby nor Ontario and even CF will join the occ or a big school richland County league in the near future.

Ohio State gets less out of their talent than any B1G team. Or, maybe the talent just isn't there. I don't know but as Jared Sollenger tweeted., they appear disconnected and disinterested

Why would Shelby agree to that proposal? They already said no to the larger schools in the sbc and now you want them to go back? Heck, they can't beat Bellevue m u ch less these other ones. Notice you didn't put lex or ontario in the large fb division. Didn't ontario just beat Shelby in fb this season? As noted elsewhere and before by others, Shelby's run of good fb athletes is over and the district is not growing unlike other areas. It’s over? I guess they should be looking for a smaller league to be in then. why? They're content in the MOAC. Fits geographically and size wise. Only ones really talking about or pushing a new league are those who trying to save the OCC or SBC. Keep dreaming

Good idea, that could work. Football only. Sandusky, Norwalk, TC, Bellevue, Senior, Ashland, Wooster and Shelby. Could make for some interesting matchups, as there are differences of opinion on which league is better. Then add Lex to the other 7 MOAC schools. OR Madison can come with Lex and Pleasant could work out a deal with the 2 leagues below. How about 4 schools from the Firelands and 4 schools from the N-10? The other eight in their own football only league. If a school/schools aren't happy after an agreed number of years, a switch could be worked out. If you would have told me at season start that this team would be this bad,I'd have laughed at you. Five in a row and counting. No intensity until last rwo minutes of game. Again long scoreless stretches- 5 minutes in 1st half and 6 minutes in 2nd half. Something is majorly wrong with this team and program.

Bucks have a young rather inexperienced team but seems like every season there is a spell like this with this program. We shall see how the players and the coaches respond. As noted elsewhere, scum is struggling to I disagree a bit on the “inexperienced” team. Sueing is a 6th year senior. McNeil is a graduate transfer who was a multiple year starter at WVU. Key is basically a 3 year starter. Likele was a 3 year starter at Oklahoma State. Tanner Holden was at Wright St for 2 years. You're right. Forgot about Holden and Likele knew about the other three. Excuses for the last four games are tough to come by.
