Shelby's two losses have been to teams with athletic, quick quarterbacks (Bellevue when LAPata was healthy and RV). Shelbys d-line is big and strong but slow. Last year's last seconds win at Shelby turned the Warrior program around, IMO but Ontario has not faced a multi-talented team like Shelby this season. Who wins? Not sure but I think ole Mr. Momentum will have a huge effect on the outcome.

Maryland out- muscled OSU for most of the game. While better than many gave them credit for, Maryland is far from PSU or SCUM. Being pushed around and bullied does not bode well for down the road

RV outplayed shelby both sides of ball. Shelby helped them out with tons of flags including 2 tds called back and 20 yards in one play on winning drive.

If I was a Norte Dame game I would be just gutted watching me team not only have 10 players for 1 play, but the last 2 plays of the game after calling a timeout. Freeman knew about it too. He said he didn’t want to get a penalty not realizing he could’ve substituted when we put in chip for trey. With all the coaches college fb teams have, someone shouldve known that, No excuse for ND == they got beat by a better team and better coached team, sorry Lou

This will not be an easy game Shelby. Think RV has the best offense Shelby has seen this year, next to Bellevue. Defense and offense better be ready for a shootout

Watched a quick replay on Youtube. ND used 2 TO's defensively in the last minute of the game. Used their last one when OSU completed the pass to the one yd. line with 7 seconds left. OSU was going to go tempo and ND wasn't ready so called TO. Even after the last TO ND wasnt ready because they only had 10 guys on field last 2 plays. No excuses for that.

I thought ND called a TO during the last drive. OSU will go as far as the defense carries them. Still abysmal shortyardage running offense at key times

The Highland game is a classic trap game for Shelby IMO. Highland all-Ohio running back shredded Shelby for over 400 yards last year against virtually the same defensive line and secondary and hes wreaking more havoc this season. Bellevue;s LaPata ran all over Shelby earlier this year and while the defense has improved, I question whether it has to the point of being able to stop a quality ground game. Galion;s running game was over-rated and over-hyped, this game will be the true test of Shelby's defense.

Shelbys defense was lights out tonight. Credit both offensive and defensive lines for dominating. Long season yet and ontario looms ahead Don't overlook Highland either but shelby was very impressive even with 3 turnovers

Despite their lack of timely and power hitting, the Guards have been competitive in most games. The problem, as PD columnist Terry Pluto contends, has been the bullpen. Forget the blown saves, but Id love to know how many leads in late innings the bullpen has yielded this year. And for the life of me, I dont understand why the manager refuses to use the two new relievers they picked up. Instead, he parades the same old tired has beens out and the game is lost.

Madison has scored 14, 0, and 0 points in their three games this year. Lex 14, 19, 28 Bellevue 6, 26, and 35. Besides Lex scoring 19 against Shelby, those other schools had their best offensive nights against Shelby. Interesting part of a post when you show that each team Shelby has played, they have their best offensive output up to that point of the season. Madison has not improved, Lexington has and we shall see where Bellevue goes. But the fact is, when they played Shelby they had the best offensive night of the season, at that point. This is why I feel shelby will not win the MOAC nor will it even be a serious contender. Their lines, both offensive and defensive, are suspect to say the least and their kickoff coverage is beyond bad. Thats why they squib kick almost every time, BTW, the gift TD that Shelby coaches essentially gave BEllevue by kicking deep to the best player on the field in the 2nd qtr was the difference in that game , IMO. Until Shelby toughens up the interior, they are extremely vulnerable and suspect

Redmen had better standout player and better coaching. That's the difference

Blowout win for Bellevue. Shelby not physical and the qb,, if not sacked five or six times, will throw several interceptions. Fan is right, few Shelby players or their parents even remember the slugfests in "the old days" between these two schools. Bellevue;s qb is much more mature and poised plus Redmen will bully Shelby in the trenches IMO

Dolan, DiBiasio and Antonettie getting ripped in blogs for their contention that the Guards are playing "meaningful games". My question -- for who? Maybe for Arias so we can watch him hopefully continue his mediocre battle to hit .200 and continue to screw up at short stop and cement his position as the next non=phenom for this sorry franchise.

Hairball is living a charmed life right now. For two years he's danced with the NFL while snubbing the university, now he's basically given the NCAA the dirty digit by not cooperating with their supposed "investigation" and laughing at the suspension while the University stands idly by and laughs with him. Oh what a couple winning seasons have done for that school up north! Between Howard and Hairball, you can tell whose running the show up north

Coach Varble impacted many students lives at SHS, not only athletes but academic students as well. He was the last of the old-school era of Shelby coaches but also pushed for the creation of many non-sporting academic activities in the district as well. A real true educator and coach. Not many left who played for him. RIP

Excellent column by Jake Furr in todays News Journal regarding parents involvement in high school sports etc/ Obviously intended for several situations locally, but Id encourage everyone to go online to the free News Journal site and read. OF course those who need it the most will ignore or laugh it off but for the sane people it is a true eye opener and picture of what is happening

Was at all 3 games this weekend. Should've been a sweep. Something's wrong with Clase IMO. His velocity is down, looks tired and seems hurried, rushed. Team still needs to bolster offense but was nice to witness the dingers.

This cleveland team just got shutout by a lefty with a 12.5 era and a team that had won just 6 games prior to tonight. Wow.

Was at Msssillon Jackson high school over weekend and on way home ordered a pepperoni pizza to go from Boscos. Mistake. Sparse toppings, couldn't hardly chew crust.. Hope it was a bad pizza day but would not recommend at all.

IF you buy a ticket, you get less for your buck. The concessioners and the media will not like it, less time for selling wares/food and commercials. Which also means less money for owners. A bigger problem for small market teams. BTW, who is whining about the length of games?? Are they using larger bags this spring? Agree with this. Cleveland relies on concessions for much of their income (beer) and those in the cheap $15 district tickets are there to party and socialize and most couldn't tell you the score. Take a half- hour away from beer and concession sales hurts the little guy plus ownership. Plus, IMO, helps pitchrrs and penalizes batters. Don't like it all all.

This is a painful team to watch. One inning wonders all year thus far. Lots of pressure on pitching staff because they realize the team cannot score at all. If can't beat motor city kitties and chump teams like that, it could be a really.long year

The real OSU team showed up in 2nd half. Played much better. Lots of ticky-tak fouls both ways detracted from game IMO.
