Very few high school teams have 5 receivers that can get open and be counted on to catch the ball. Then there is a QB that will make them catch it. No excuse because the ball will be there. Then there is a big, athletic o line. Two of them are/were bball players. The QB can run and the stand in RB is no slouch. Imagine when the all-state RB returns.

Shelby up I believe 40 to zip at half!
And Shelby bring starters out the next 2 possession !!!!
Don't think that is very intelligent by Shelby!!!!

When we were up 40-0 at half. The starters had been out since the middle of the 2nd, Then played the first half of the 3rd quarter, turning it over for good to the 2nd and 3rd string by the middle of the 3rd quarter, up 54-0.

Keep in mind, depending on how many Jv players there are, the Jv are only aloud a certain about of quarters per week. Shelby possibly needed there starters to be in that long. I wasn't there though and known nothing about Shelby.

Also keep in mind this is the first game action with certain players on the field so getting them plenty of snaps is a good thing.

If everyone would've been reading how critical I've been of the Redmen this year u would've seen this one coming. The Redmen are in for a long season and to be honest the future doesn't look much brighter. If I was Ed I would play that quarterback and running back we saw in the fourth quarter tonight. with as bad as our offensive line is you need a quick shifty back not one who has no moves or athleticism.

Thus they could play 4 quarters on Friday night then turn around and play 4 more quarters on Saturday morning. The only restriction is they can't play more than 50 quarters in a season, not counting playoffs.

Which for this team could be an issue since the jv will get a lot of time on Friday nights.

This is the first time there has been a shutout in the Bellevue-Shelby series since 2013 (Bellevue 35-0), and the first time Shelby has shutout Bellevue since 1998 (21-0)
The 46 points difference in this game is tied for the biggest margin of victory in this series with Bellevue's 60-14 win from 2008.

Bellevue doesn't get blanked often. It's been one of the most respected programs in Northern Ohio for some time now, they just ran into a juggernaut. Shelby's ran into a more then a few of those types of Bellevue teams over the years as it is a very healthy program. WMFD highlights here: www.wmfd.com/sports/single.asp?story=73642

Nobody cares if a backup/JV player plays two quarters on Friday and a full game on Saturday. That is likely to happen to Shelby all year meaning some JV players could get as many as 6 * 10 quarters and you'll never hear a word because nobody cares. Football has too high an injury risk. It self regulates. Those rules are for bball, vball, etc. Anyone ever heard of a football program getting busted for this?
