What's the AD have yo do with this? His mom moved. Obviously this wasn't a basketball decision. We actually BEAT RV last season. It's not his fault that our b ball programs have largely been a dumpster fire since the 70's. We've had success in most of our other sports and started a soccer program over the last 3 years. Outside of b ball he really hasn't had that bad of a run. I didn't say anything AT ALL about the AD having anything at all to do about (or with) this. I think you misconstrued where my "sarcasm" was going........ I just thought it was ironic that the AD got an award and, simultaneously, the Tigers finished a very so-so basketball season. Apparently my "bar" is set a little higher than yours.......just sayin'. Oh, and I know all about the soccer programs at Galion (who finished their 2nd season this past fall). My second oldest son is one of the head coaches.

Why would any award that an AD gets be tied to basketball success? I don't mean to be rude but we had a coach who was trying to hold them to "higher standard" and the parents drove him out because he was too hard on the poor kids. They got exactly what they deserve.

Here we go again. None of the complaints I heard had anything to do with the coach being too hard on the kids. All the complaints I heard were about using inappropriate language constantly and having inappropriate conversations with the kids. None of the complaints had anything to do with the coach being too hard on them. That's probably just the coach's excuse.

Maybe not though.

Somehow he managed to coach track and football here, coached track at CC, and was the head B ball coach at Crestline. He has done all of this without incident. But for some reason in his ONE season as B ball coach here he decided to say screw it and be inappropriate with the kids. You can believe what you want to from whoever is telling you the stories. But I'm going to go with what I've witnessed with my own eyes for going on 6 years now. I'd bring up the fact that he was investigated and cleared but you're just going to retort how the AD is his buddy. I would bring up this cautionary tale though. Several kids last spring were overheard in class plotting to make up some crap about our new football coach because he was driving them too hard for their liking. They literally referenced how it worked for basketball. When asked about it during lifting later by the coaches they admitted to the conversation and claimed to be "joking around." Again, believe who you want to.

I've talked to too many people that said it happened and that includes people that liked him and wanted him back.

One of you trust your sources and the other one knows the person directly. Not much need for sources when you can get the info first hand knowing and working with the person. From what I have seen, read and heard during the previous 3 and current coach, some sources may be the problem and not a reliable outlet for accurate information.

I can always come on here every month of so and go back and read all the comments. You guys NEVER fail to disappoint me. Pure humor...bickering like old men back-and-forth. I love your guys' passion. Go Tigers..whoops too late. Any update on Chase? They start spring football this weekend (I think.) He won "Offensive Scout Player of the Year" at BW last season (Well tied for it with another teammate (I think he was a Junior or Senior.)..I posted it in the "Alumni...Football " section the story behind it. He's getting bigger, as long as he can stay focused and motivated; he should have a good season. We will see.

The opinion you have about what position the kid played at what age does not matter. I'm trying to tell you he played post in middle school and worked on his post skills and dribbling to be a better post until his freshman season. Then the high school coach moved him away from the basket and he worked on his shooting range. He has become one of the best players in the MOAC. I was trying to give you correct information without opinions. Feb 10, 2018 at 10:37pm Willard Fillmore said:
Barnett is 6-3, a 4 year starter, who in the past was strictly a perimeter player shooting a lot of 3-pointers. At 6-3 being by far the tallest player on the team he became a post player over the summer
THANK YOU!! I was 100% correct. I praised, something you're incapable of, Barnett for being a 4 year starter. I pointed out he had been a 6-3 perimeter player,(TRUE) which is always an asset to a team. OBVIOUSLY I was talking about high school basketball. Talking about what a player does in middle school compared to high school is a moot point. His game this year was considerably different than what it was the last couple of years. I praised, him for the work he put in over the summer to broaden his game to help Clear Fork become a better TEAM. I knew Barnett would be one of the best players in the MOAC this year, before the beginning of the season. You on the other hand, put down high school players. JMHO I praise the kid at every game. What you were wrong about was that he was strictly a perimeter guy shooting a lot of 3s.

YOU are making yourself look bad, being untruthful. YOUR exact words from YOUR post on this thread, of Feb.16 2018 at 8:30 am, when YOU called Barnett a "full time guard in high school". How is that different from what I've been saying??
If he plays basketball in college is he going to be a post player or a guard?
JMHO

Your claim that he was strictly a perimeter player shooting a lot of 3-pointers and learned to play the post over the summer, is the untruth. He grew up as a post player, working on post moves who could shoot jump shots and even spent time working with Jamie Feick as a young post player. What I said is he was made a full time guard in high school. Just because you said it, doesn't make it correct.

He has been a good 3-point shooter in high school. Something he was not in middle school since you said he was post player in middle school. What's untrue about that?? Surely you aren't such a neophyte to think that what he learned in middle school was the reason he played the post well this year and more than he did his Frosh through Jr. years. I've done nothing but praise Barnett. You on the other hand insult a player.

Only a neophyte would assume to know more about a player than someone who has been with the player during the years of development. Neither have insulted anyone but I have corrected you.

NEVER said I know more than you. Nothing I've said is opposite of what you've said. You DID for a fact insult a player.
