Basketball is over, spring has sprung, time to start thinking about football 2019. What do people think of the OCC in 2019?

Will the OCC be able to supply the state with another Mr Football?

Will the OCC be able to supply the state with another Mr Football? That's probably a long shot. It will be an interesting year though. Lots of good talent moving on, should make for some interesting game. On a side note, the Ashland board approved getting new lights at the Stadium this week. No longer will they be in front of the stands. Between that and the new field house it should be some nice upgrades.

I don't know who's coming back, but based on recent "tradition", I have to think Ashland will rebound after a .500 season.

Along with the talent that is moving on so is the Lex AD to the Cincy area.

Lexington hires a new AD. Lex grad, Mike Grist will be returning home. Wow. Just one year at Ontario. Mike is a great guy, though. He will do a good job. Did they even interview anybody? Joe just quit a week ago or so...

Grist was a great elementary school teacher for 6 years, but was a spy for Dude his 1 year as an AD.

Roberts and Grist wanted to get Lexington into the MOAC. I wish that would have happened.

A wish of mine as well. Don't give up on it, thoughts might change after a few years at 7 members.

Even thought the MOAC did not approve Lex, 4 of the 7 teams are playing them in football this season.

Again you have some bad information. According to the MOAC schools in Marion County, they voted NO because they wanted to give Highland another year or two to be kicked out of their league. They would like to add another Central District team as the 8th school. Galion does not want to play Lexington in any sport, football included.

You believe that BS the Marion county schools are giving you? Highland isn't getting kicked out, they're the big cheese. They were the ringleader in getting schools to leave the MOAC and creating the KMAC
The truth is what I've said, which they will never admit to in public. They're using giving Highland a couple years as their current excuse.

It is not BS if they believe it can happen. They want a Central District team in the league.

It is not BS if they believe it can happen. They want a Central District team in the league. "Believe" is the operative word. Do you "believe" Highland will be in the MOAC in the next 2 years? I "believe" less than a 5% chance. More than "a team" is needed, an 8th school is needed. The Marion County schools would prefer a school in the Central District over Upper or Kenton? Which currently are no more likely than Highland. Why the Central District? Either too far away, Columbus traffic or too big would keep them from voting in favor of 95% of the schools in the Central District. Besides, name ONE school in the Central District that would want to be a member of the MOAC. Convince us they truly "believe" or "want" either. The truth is, they just didn't "want" Lex. Actually, they really didn't "want" Harding, Ontario, Clear Fork or Shelby either. Only desperation to keep the MOAC alive and at 8 schools allowed that to happen. I guess they figured they had to draw a line somewhere.

More than "homers", they need a better recruiter. It hasn't been all that long ago, when transfers were running the other way.

What I believe has nothing to do with how those schools voted.

Head baseball coach Jeff Fisher named as new AD at Ontario replacing Grist. Great man. Should be a fine hire. Ontario seems to have a good track record of hiring quality people from other districts (Fisher = Bucyrus) and they becoming "lifers." Good luck Fish.
